These idiots have called me 2 times in the last 3 weeks from 2 different nusembers, both times at work. The second time the lady identified herself as Sarah Martin from AMD Verification Services. My boss transfered the call to HR. They have also been calling my brother and using the same  lines. Bottom line they are worthless bottom feeders who think by making idle threats and using false names of attorneys and companies to sound official they can scare people into sending them money.

They called my cell, my work # and my husband's cell.  They are some kind of verification company and they give you an 866# to call with a case #.  When I called the second number they said they were acting on behalf of a payday company (Summit Group) and that I had written a bad check and that she would send someone over to serve me a warrant or arrest me.   I told her I am in the middle of bankruptcy and I did not know who summit group is.  She said the bankruptcy did not affect the fact that I had written this payday company a bad check.   I told her I would contact my attorney and have him talk to her.   She said she would wait 3 hours before sending someone to my work with a warrant.
The attorney's office said they have been getting a lot of calls from people stating this company was calling and threatening them.  They are trying to use "strong arm tactics" to get money from people, but since the paydays are illegal in my state, they are just blowing wind, plus you are protected under the bankruptcy laws, whether this company thinks so or not.  Plus, I don't know who they are.  Wonder if they are just randoming calling people to see if they will send them money.

Yes I ended up having to go to court for this [***]! I am mad as hell, and now I have to pay 2000 instead of 500 which I owed. This company does not even warn you before they serve you. I got served at my work and now I'm out of work. :( Thanks America!!!!!!!!!

You know what, I thought this was a joke as well and I thought someone was trying to just take my money, however it's not a joke. I defaulted on a pay day loan and because of that my checking account has been closed. I was devestated. I ended up calling the company and spoke with a Mrs Tina Cochoran. She was able to work with me and by doing so she saved me the headache of having to appear in court and pay extra fees on top of what I already owed. I have been able to pay off my debt and can now re-open my checking account in the next 6 months. If I where you I would check into it because it's definitely NOT A JOKE!

Phone rang from this number, but I did not answer.  Here's my test.  If they're legitimate, they'll leave a legitimate voice mail.  I do not answer the phone from numbers I do not know.  After all, it is MY phone not theirs!

Which state do you live in?  In Texas it is illegal to have payday loans.  They still have them but I would have consulted an attorney.  Sorry you went thru all that hassel.

All these posts saying they actually got served are lying, they work for the company that is calling and trying to scare you. They are a Joke and you wont be served by anyone. These guys are extremely uneducated and are not employable at any other type of job. I have begun recording my conversations with them. Many time these calls end up with them cussing at me and telling me how much of a low life I am. Dont pay them anything and you can watch NOTHING happen!

FDCPA violations at the least. People sometimes run into financial problems . This does not allow debt collectors or verifiers to break the law. FDCPA is a federal law so doesn't matter what state they are calling from. These people try to s care people and say they are calling on behalf of the state of California, a lot of the statements these idiots make are FDCPA violations. Look up what FDCPA guidelinesare. As for the previous comment of someone paying back 2000 dollars when they only owed 500, this is also prohibited to attempt to collect more then what is allegedly owed unless stated in a contract.
