I received a call from a different number instructing me to call this number - a law firm that has been trying to reach me about a civil matter and if I don't respond within 48 hours a decision will be made without me. They have also contacted my sister. I called the number from a google voice account and they claim to be a law firm called "Gonzalez and Associates" but could not provide me a website and got impatient with my questions and told me to look them up on the Sec of State website (which proves nothing).

Anyway.. pretty obvious scam attempt.

What is 'funny' is they call from a local number and then tell you to call a number in California.. they left me a voice mail.. my minor child one and an aquaintenance that i haven't talked to in over 10 years.  and each voice mail left a different call back number.  When I asked questions, the woman became irate.  There is absolutely no pending lawsuit against me.. I think these people/numbers need to be exposed to others don't fall for their asinine claims.

A guy named Jaylen left a voicemail looking for someone I had not seen in years. The caller ID showed a local number but the voicemail left a CA phone number to call back. I returned their call, it was the same law firm as mentioned in the other comments here. I asked what they wanted and they said they couldn’t tell me anything since it wasn’t my case. They just needed to reach the guy they were looking for.  They also said they would remove my number from their files since I had no info for them.
I’m completely convinced this whole thing is a scam of some sort though. The things they did reveal just didn’t add up in regards to the person they claimed to be searching for.

Yeah, and I doubt that they will "remove your number" as well.

They called my dad last week claiming they are looking for me and need to get in contact with me or else. Then Karen leaves a voicemail on my phone telling me to call them or a judgement will be placed against me in 48 hrs. SCAM!! I thought you couldn’t find me how’d you find my number to leave a message. I ignore the BS.

Called my ex husband claiming to be a law firm a law firm stating that they had a civil matter dated back 2005 in 5 the guy I talked to today was anything but professional he was rude racist
