Just received a very threatening call from 213-293-3590.  Voice with a rather refined Indian accent said his name was "Steve Martin ".  The message indicates that I have a VERY serious problem and may be called before a magistrate, Judge or grand jury for federal criminal offense, and that I'd better call back, or else!  Other phone websites have reported similar calls from other LA numbers. Gotta admit that this is kinda scary, but  I don't think I'll return the call.

Second time that "Steve Martin" (with refined Indian accent) called today.  Same threat as to other callers: better call or I will be subject to some kind of action from a magistrate, judge or grand jury for some sort of federal crime.  Don't think I'll return Steve's call....

Same thing here. I did call back but got no answer. Weird.

Third time that "Steve Martin" (with refined Indian accent) has called in last two days.  this time it was at 5:30 AM!  Left the same ominous and threatening message.  Steve is a busy guy, in addition to being wild and crazy!

Received 2 calls from Steve Martin. Told him to send it in the mail. Don't call back.

Got a recorded call (TWICE!) from an Indian man named 'Steve Martin'. Said very threatening that this was the second time they have tried to reach me and want me to call them back or I will be subject to Magistrate or grand jury. I can see by what is posted here that this is a complete scam. Seems pretty aggressive, I am reporting this to the FCC.

Wow! 'Steve Martin' called you! Is he really 'A wild & crazy guy!'?  Boy those foreign 3rd world scamming criminal extortionist have GOT to stop getting their names from tv shows on SKY-TV Asia.

Got same call from Steve Martin.  No intention of calling back.  If it is a legitimate issue from IRS, they should be sending an official letter.

This ridiculous voice message was left on my voice mail and since when does the government make phone calls or better yet work on the weekends or nights.... haha... that's a good one. If a government agency is trying to get a hold of you, they will send you a letter and a number of them before reaching out via the phone. For Scammers VOIP is cheap, doesn't even cost them a stamp to contact you:

Hi, This message is intended to contact you. My name is Steve Martin, and I'm calling regarding an enforcement action executed by US Treasury that needs your immediate attention especially. Ignoring this will be an intentional second attempt to avoid initial appearance before a magistrate judge or a grand jury. For a federal criminal offense. My number is (213) 293-3590. I repeat (213) 293-3590. I advise you to cooperate with us and help us to help you. Thank you.

Just got the exact same call from 818-328-2962 which shows registered via VOIP provider Bandwidth.com. Certainly not the IRS but some kind of scammer.

I reported complaint to the national do not call registry website too and would suggest anyone receiving theses calls to do the same. Only takes a few minutes and can't hurt to try.
