- ChillOutPeeps| 2 repliesThe person on the other line is not a scammer, and even with a heavy accent they are just doing their job. It's IHG (Intercontinental Hotels Group) conducting a survey. I stayed at a Holiday Inn this past weekend and so they were calling to check on my experience. I swear some people have zero tolerance or patience.
- Caller: IHG
- Call type: Survey
- B-Edwards replies to ChillOutPeepsShill Alert
You are either a Shill for the timeshare promotion that is disguised as a survey or a deluded free-lance Shill.
"People" have a right to privacy. No one is obligated to be understanding, sweet and loving or even to CHILL when called by a "survey" with a timeshare promotion attached.
The company doing this is using a meaningless survey as a cloak to get past the DNC list, in order to promote time shares. This is dishonest and sleezy.
I suggest anyone reading this make a report to the Do Not Call Registry: Report calls from 213-337-2559

Maybe make a complaint to IHG about their deceptive practices. I sure plan to. - NolahThey called and asked for me by name and i dont have a very common name and i hung right up, called back and got sent to a machine that told me about the survey and said i could wait for a representative if i wanted to be removed from the list, i just hung up.
- Caller: IHG

- LiveInLA| 1 replyDidn't recognize the number so I didn't pick nor did they leave a voicemail. That being said...I too am a member/frequent guest of IHG properties and they do have my number. Maybe next time...I'll pick up.
- AJGot a call and didn't leave voicemail.
- Caller: Unknown
- PJC replies to LiveInLAI received the same call. They already knew my name and knew I was a frequent IHG customer and wanted to do a survey on my recent stay. Problem is I haven't stayed at an IHG property in months. I checked with IHG and they told me it was a scam, so I am pretty sure their database has been hacked.
- LisaGot a call from this number. When I answered it they said, "I am looking for grease lightening". I just hung up. Don't waste your time. Just do not answer.
- TThis number came up with no description but the location said Algeria, so I did not answer it.
- drpCall on cell; no name, i.d., etc;
it's been 3 mos since I stayed at one of their properties;
I don't need or want ANY benefits derived from their survey;
yes, I AM very intolerant so don t preach to me!!- Caller: unknown
- JoeI answered, took a few seconds for them to pick up the robo call and I hung up before I heard anything they had to say. I called number back on different phone and got a recording that just said "no one is available to take your call, please try back later". I blocked number, but it sounds like people here got a valid call from IHG. I do belong to IHG's "club" or whatever it is, so this may have been a valid call and an opportunity for a free room stay. However,..... how in the world can we ever know. I get so many of spam calls that I can't even trust any that might be valid. Its a shame. So if you're reading this IHG, send me an email. Or if you are using a valid number, LEAVE A MESSAGE WITH A CALL BACK NUMBER!!!! That way we will know you are not a scam. I just might return the call and help with the survey, even if I dont' get a comp room.
- SashaCalled from Los Angeles, California. I didn't recognize the number so I didn't answer, they didn't leave a voice mail.

- PierreCalled IHG about this number and they confirmed there is no such offer from them at this number more then likely a scam they tried to get $249 for a four night stay and they stated they would give me $249 cash in an envelope when I arrived. Sounded very convincing I would have to give them but never give out your credit card number to someone who calls you "rule number one". They had my IHG information which made it slightly more convincing.
- Caller: scammers
- Call type: Scam suspicion
- ellencaller ID said only "Los Angeles, CA" - caller left no message. I'm on do not call list, so it's not legit.
