A male caller recording Kevin MASON, threatening a Federal US Treasury criminal grand jury indictment if I didn;t call back...

Reported it to Treasury, got this automated response

Thank you for your email.  If you have received an unsolicited call from an individual purporting to be from the Internal Revenue Service or the Department of the Treasury, and/or making threats of legal action or even promises of federal grant funds, it is a fraud.

There are a number of similar scams, some of which can be quite persuasive: in some, the scammers have done brief Internet research of potential victims so they appear to be familiar with their victim's personal details, and they use this information as a springboard to obtain more. 100% scam. I even tried to call back, as I always enjoy screwing with these guys, but they don't answer... not sure what their game is with this one.. usually they answer and try to threaten you with jail time etc... they'll even have background noise, as if they're located at a legit call center..

Got three calls but they didn't have the nerve to answer back.  I love to call back and mess with them.  This scam is so old and so lame!  Why do they call and leave messages if they aren't willing to take return calls? Are they getting paid by the hour or the number of calls they make?  My god, they're Americans!  If I could get one of them to take a return call, I'd ask for a supervisor and maybe get one of the lazy [***] fired.
