Abusive
Threatened law suit

Anonymous caller, displaying ONLY a number,
without the name of a company or individual.

We NEVER answer anonymous calls, but this
anonymous caller was decent enough to leave
a voice mail message.  However in his message,
he failed to identify himself, and threatened
legal action if one failed to contact him
WITHIN TWO HOURS at 866-723-6215. (*)

All this sounded to me as hardball tactics
from some opportunistic debt collector
trying to squeeze some money by claiming
invalid rights to some EXPIRED DEBT.

(*)  Most attorneys will recommend to never
    speak with debt collectors, much less
using a number such as 866-723-6215, as toll-
free numbers afford fewer privacy protection.

Called and told me they were sending someone to serve me with papers in 2 hours! Gave me another number to call to stop, that number was 877-430-7536. They tried to tell me that I owed $2000 on a credit card opened in 2007, but I checked my credit report while on the phone and told them no such debt existed. They told me it won't be on there because it was going to court.  It would have been on there. I called back and asked them to send the papers, including the original signed agreement for said credit card, as well as proof of the original debt and the balance on the account from zero to present. He told me it would take a few weeks to get that information together. That sounded off, considering they were threatening to sue me and serve me with papers in 2 hours!
I looked up the statute of limitations for the state I am in, and it is 6 years. This is a total scam and I ALMOST fell for it!  Beware and protect yourself. Do not give any banking or credit card information. They had all of my open credit card balances at the tip of their fingers!

Beware of this phone number/caller. They are trying to acquire your personal information including financial.

Caller did not give me his name. Identified his company as Nationwide/wise? Knew my name and my husband's. Told me they had to serve him with papers. When asked what this was about, caller claimed not to know - that he was holding "sealed legal documents" told me I needed to call 866-298-8973 within the hour and speak to someone "in the firm" regarding "file case # 96604" and that they would be able to tell me more about "the complaint against my husband." Could not tell me the name of "the firm" referred to it as BBM which I googled as a law firm in Scottland.

Received two calls the first one they used another person’s name. The second time they used my husband’s name,the problem is the number they used is mine not my husband’s. Threatened law suit,if didn’t call them within two hours. It’s a scam big time.
