We get two or three calls from this number every day - caller ID says "LSAN DA 12 CA, and they never leave a message.  I called back once, and it just rang and rang, no answer.  One day I did pick up the phone, and a woman with an accent asked if Mr. or Mrs. (my last name) was there and then asked if we would be interested in selling our house on (a street I don't recognize - not in California).  I asked where she got this information, and she said her assistant found it in "public records".  I told her (politely) that her assistant hadn't done a good job and that she should not call me again.  She said okay.  But the phone calls keep coming.  Really!  What does it take to get these scammers to stop?!?!?

Well, at the very least you can block the number.

Multiple calls a day. No body will speak. I started saying “landline” and they hang up. I’m planning on buying a very LOUD whistle.

So you plan on damaging your own hearing? Why would you want to do that? You see, modern phones don't transmit sounds at harmful levels so all you would be doing with your "very LOUD whistle" is hurting your own ears. Save your hearing and just block the number.

I have an older phone, a true landline, not wireless and it does transmit very loud noises. I can also remove the hearing aid before blowing the whistle.

Nope, sorry. While your phone may be an old landline, the phone your scammer is calling from is almost certainly not. So skip the whistle & buy a call blocker instead.

I doubt that your attempts at educating "cam" will work and it appears to be a bit too late:
