Some nitwit telemarketer from LA is trying to scam me! I never ever pick up on a call when I don't recognize the phone number of whoever is calling! As far as I'm concerned, they are all scammers!

If you did not answer the phone then how do you know that it is a
1. Telemarketer selling goods and/or services?
2. That they are actually from LA?
3. That they are "trying to scam" you?

It is much safer to assume that it is a telemarketer or scammer being that they are so pervasively calling people to sell or scam people by phone! I know that they are from Los Angeles because of the LSAN DA 12 CA tag they show! Look it up! Also got a call from 213-980-0523 that left a message that said: "Sorry, you did not reveal yourself to be human." which is really funny because the message wasn't left by a human but was a robotic voice message! I feel sorry for any sucker who answers their phone calls when they don't know who it is that is calling! We could put these criminal robo-caller scammers out of business if people would only use caller ID and never answer their phones unless they recognize who is calling!

So you have never heard of "Caller ID Spoofing"?  Maybe you should look that up?  I answer all the time so that I can find out the necessary information, waste their time in the process, and then post here to warn people.  Makes much more sense to me to do that.  Plus if I make a report to the FCC/FTC/State AG I can give them a lot more information other than telling them that I got a call and don't know anything about it.

Besides, Area Code 213 is downtown LA and immediate surrounding areas, like China town, according to Wikipedia!

I see you failed to read my last reply to you.  Your loss if you don't have knowledge that you need.

Of course, I've heard of Caller ID Spoofing! In fact, many calls that display phone numbers on the caller ID are most likely not even real numbers of those trying to call. I get local numbers displayed all the time when I realize that a scammer from India may be the real caller. So, the only thing I really believe about the caller is that it is most likely  a scammer or telemarketer or pollster...ie: someone who I really don't want to talk to! Good for you, and thank you, for doing us all a great service by wasting the time of those scammers! I've watched several videos on youtube of people doing this and I get lots of giggles from it! Please keep up the good work!
