Suspicion spiked after I checked the call back number (855 892 0473) and found several posts.  Caller had wanted to talk to person in charge of finance or running payments because they are updating the business profile and to check if Discover is accepted.

I hung up after their continue questions in regards to what our processing application was etc. They called me back three more times even though I cleared them every time

Claims to be an agent for Discover wants to run a fake transaction however you are opening your self up to a scam. Do not comply with their request they then give a completely different number to call back. 614-335-9265

Same deal as above... Discover is supposedly updating our lawfirm's profile to make sure that we are accepting Discover cards. We use LawPay which accepts Visa, MC, Discover and AmEx.  So this verification is totally unnecessary.  I told her that we were not interested in running a fake transaction nor their signage kit.  Don't waste your time with these people.

Lady called and said she is with merchant services and needs to speak with so and so regarding an account with Discover. My caller ID said UNKNOWN, I knew it was a scam call! I'm glad I googled this number!

Same as above, a woman said she worked for discover and wanted to run a "test transaction" to check that we are still accepting discover. I said nope and hung up.

Same as above, a lady from Discover wants to put us back at the top of her Discover transaction list so asked me to run $1 transaction.  I told her I don't feel comfortable doing that so she said she would email me so I could see she was really from Discover.  Never received an email, not even in my junk email.  Calls me about once a week.

We have a better solution - we don't answer unknown calls office, home or cell - especially calls using non-descriptive VoIP CIDs.  Always a sure sign of a scam.
No message was left.  Have now blocked all 213 784 calls.
BTW, our business callers know to display a CID or leave a message if we do not pickup.
