got the call left a really threating message  about  federal  thing and courts ..  [***] .

Apparently I will be going to jail unless I talk to them.

There are numerous telephone and email scams in which individuals claim to be employees of the Treasury Department. These scammers often state that they are from the “Department of Legal Affairs,” offer grant money in exchange for you wiring a small payment, or threaten to arrest you within a short period of time unless payment is made. Do not provide personal information or payment to these individuals.  Their actions are crimes under Titles 18 and 31 of the United States Code, and the Treasury Office of Inspector General is working to stop them.

If they claim to be from Treasury, report  it to OIGCounsel@oig.treas.gov with a description.  If it was a phone contact, include:
the exact date and time that you received the call(s)
the phone number of the caller
the geographic location and time zone where you received the call
a description of the communication.

If they claim to be from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) or it is about taxes, report it to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration at:

I received a vm from this number as well. I called back and a man that was clearly from India told me he is Federal Agent David R, and if I provide my name and zip code he can tell me what this is regarding. My reply was give me your website because I think this is a scam, his response- CLICK, hung up.

Exactly the same script was told to me as described above.

Same as others. Caller from India asking for my name and zip code. I said it was a scam based on the info he gave me and hung up. He called me back, I could hear my voice playback so they are recording. He told me I had a sweet voice and all he needed was my name. I told him he was a scam and to stop calling. He said he will call back hundreds of times if he wanted and hung up.

IRS calling to collect a debt so I didn't have to go to court

It is a THIEF calling.  The IRS mails letters if there is a problem.  IGNORE!!

He said he was a Federal Agent and if I didn't get in contact with him I would have to see a Magistrate Judge? Blah blah blah!

Many  of the Indian and Pakistani IRS scammers are spoofing Los Angeles area codes for some reason.

Got a call from this number but did not answer.  Googled the number and found reports of it being a scam.  I have had a couple of calls from a 718-731-6547 and they did leave a threatening message about a criminal case filed against me from the IRS blah, blah blah. Sounds like the same people.

Been getting calls from these same people for a month now.  Every time I block a phone number, I get a call from a different number.  All are leaving the same messages.
The area codes are coming from:  213, 714, 559 California.  757 Virginia.  646 New York.  469 Texas.
CALLS FROM:  213-805-0180, 757-504-1430, 646-369-1404, 646-369-1396, 464-351-7852, 714-769-6831.
RETURN CALLS are given as:  714-769-6831, 646-369-1404, 469-351-7852, 559-650-0075.
MESSAGE LEFT:  "This is time sensitive.  If I don't hear from you or your attorney, all I can do is wish you a good luck as the situation totally unfolds on you."
MESSAGE LEFT:  "Ignoring this would be an intentional attempt to avoid appearance before the magistrate judge or exempt jury for a federal criminal offense.  Before this matter goes to federal claim courthouse or before you get arrested, kindly call us back at 469-351-7852.  I hope to hear from you soon before the charges are pressed against you."
MESSAGE LEFT:  " (Inaudible)...tax fraud against your name.  Ignoring this would be an intentional attempt.....(same message as above)."

I do know that if the government was going to contact a person they would do it by mail and/or certified mail.  They would not use people from a foreign country to make phone calls.
If contact through the U.S mail was not responded to the government would send the Police/Sheriffs Dept. to your door.
I am assuming that these people got my phone number from hacking into one of the major phone carriers verses another way since this seems to happen quite frequently!
I do not intend on calling them back.  I'll re-post if a black SUV  pulls into my driveway one day!

I received a call from this number 213-805-0180 a couple of days ago.  The caller identified himself as an agent representing the IRS, and that this is the 2nd and final call to me about failing to respond to them regarding taxes and that they will now issue a warrant for my arrest. These callers have become a nuisance. I've blocked them on y cell phone, now it's time to block them on the landline. Looks like they got me to spend money after all. At least I'll be able to write this purchase off as a business necessity.

Said I Fed. Criminal Offense to speak to a Federal Agent 213-805-0810

I received a call from 213-805-0180 on June 24th.  A man with a strong Middle Eastern accent asked to speak to me (knew my first and last name) when I asked who was calling, he said his name was Shawn Williams with the Internal Revenue Service.  I told him it was difficult for me to believe that his given name was Shawn Williams.  He insisted that was his given name and that he was from the IRS.  I then proceeded to go off on him.  Within a minute, he hung up.
