Received call from 213-833-9899.  The caller did not leave a message.

Gracious people want to come to my home to help me with my construction needs. Ooh, no needs for repairs, they can paint too! Well, I'll be damned if that wasn't a kind gesture from this gentle stranger on the other end of the phone. Well, wouldn't you know it, my lack of need for paint would put them in the position for come clean my windows. I was floored by their generosity. The also do duct cleaning! WHAT?!? This is like Home Depot service but on the phone! Then it hit me.... I had to let them know after my excitement with their great offers got them hopeful... I blurted out my situation.... "Oh, I live in an apartment". They hung up. So sad 😭!

Caller didn't leave a message on my machine and the caller id said "Out of Area" which probably means telemarketer/scammer since every legitimate caller I know leaves a message. So I ran 3 reverse traces using 3 different types of traces and all were blocked for a person or business name and the only information was a general location of Los Angeles, California using a landing with 2 service providers of AT&T California , and Pacific Bell. This is definitely a scammer that is either spoofing numbers and/or using a Voip system while phishing for personal information and running some scam ( i.e. Home Improvement, Duct Cleaning, Window Cleaning, House Painter etc. ). A legitimate business would never hide their identity and location from the public by blocking a trace. DON'T ANSWER AND DO NOT CALL BACK FOR ANY REASON. Block and report to the proper authorities. Phone companies should be held responsible for these types of calls since they are making money from them by providing the systems and services that these scammers use and possibly farming out numbers too.

An unwanted message from this L.A. VOIP number arrived today.  When the answering machine picked up, the caller left no message, just dead space.  Robocallers (unlawful telemarketers) do this all the time while trolling the phone lines seeking gullible schmucks to rip off.

Not surprisingly, the website www.whitepages.com describes this number as "scam or fraud."  I'm sooooooooo surprised!

3-30-17 18:24 PDT CID= "LOS ANGELES CA" Jolly well done Rebecca. First time this number has called but wait,,,,ah to bad,,,, I have all of area code 213 blocked so all they got from their call was a quick disconnect.

3/31/17 12:17 PDT  First call for me from this number also.  Wasn't here and wouldn't have answered the generic Los Angeles ID in any case.  Do love Rebecca's response, though.  Reading the ensuing reports, will definitely add this number to my blocked list.

Caller id was LOS ANGELES CA.  Only one ring.  The roboguy got this one.

10 am Sunday apparently they don't give anybody a day off. !!

This must be a scammer.
