I keep getting calls from this telephone # and they're like a threat about owning taxes and I do not owe taxes to anyone and they threat you and saying they're the federal government.

I got a call on my answering machine and it was a recording saying the name was Judy Smity from the United States Treasury about a tax fraud case against me and I should call them as soon as possible before I got to jail. The number was 760-284-3280. This is crazy and scary. I have never done anything wrong. Please record this number

Short answer:
The IRS never initiates a contact via phone.
They always send a snailmail first.

received a call from the United States treasury saying officer judy smith will arrest me due  to tax fraud

323-522-4789 recording saying it was Judy Smith from US Treasury Office telling me to call or I'll be arrested. I have called the number back recently and told them to stop scam calling my house. It was a different message but of the same nature/same number and it stopped for a short time but it started again today. Really annoying. It was getting to be 2,3,4 times a day last go around.

Received the same automated message with "Judy Smith"  same exact wording "against my name"  with the number 310-929=5851.  Received a similar call last year about my taxes - that was a scam.   Pretty sure this was one too.   Did a quick search of Judy Smith and low and behold --again a scam.
