I so agree with Lyle (investigator) on this website!! Once you answer these idiots, they now have a viable number and will sell your number to other bottom-feeding scammers. Don't fall for their game -- if you do not recognize area code or number, DO NOT ANSWER!!! It used to be "Rachel" from card services, now it's "Heather." Same scam, new name.

Got a call from this number today. Didn't answer but thought it might be someone from work so I called it back and got a message that just kept saying to press 1 if I wanted to be placed on the no call list.

Several calls recently but never called by them before.  I don't answer unknown callers.  No message is ever left.  I love caller ID and answering machines and I suspect the crooks really hate BOTH!  I am registered on DNC list but it doesn't seem to matter to the crooks.

True.  After all, they are criminals ... and "their thing" is to ignore laws.
The DNC list is not a cal blocker.

Call from this number, didn't answer, caller id said from Pennsylvania!  Left no message.  Definitely a not wanted, scammer call.

Hey man, I'm being censored man! You can't take down my comments man, the truth will set you free. These calls are, like, so oppressive man.

I used my best senile grandma voice and said "that nice, tell me more" "wow" and such. after 5 minutes he gave up. I had an audience on my end and they were loosing it the whole time.

Called did not leave message.  Private phone.  Only used in emergencies

Problem with everyone that says dont answer is that everyone has voicemail these days. So you dont answer it goes to voicemail and they still know it's a good number. Do not call list only works for legit companies not scammers. Best things to do are keep ignoring them or answer and mess with them. I try to see how long I can keep them on the phone. And calling the police to report them as scammers or fraud is a waste of the polices time, most scammers are out of country or another state and most agencies dont have the resources to investigate all the scam calls there are, even if you fall for the scam and lose money all they can do is take an initial report, give you the report number and most times the investigation stops there, your banks fraud department then determines reimbursement.

I posted this earlier and have since discovered it gone, which I highly resent. There is nothing offensive or sinister about it. It was an explanation of how I deal with these endless scam calls. I use the name of an app because that is what I use and would recommend--no more. I am not shilling for anything. So, I am totally clueless why post would disappear. Please leave it alone. People can trust it or pass it by of there own accord. Thank you.

Here is how I deal with these calls:
1) I forward all landline calls to cell (convenience). 2) I have compiled every conceivable legitimate phone number pertinent to me in the contacts list installed in my phone. 3) I installed [for just a small one time fee] an app called 'Extreme Call Blocker' that blocks all numbers not in that contact list, including unknowns, anonymous, and unavailable numbers. This app is programmable to answer and hang-up on calls in less than a second with no opportunity to go to or leave a voicemail unless I allow it. This app has a feature called 'whitelist' where I can put numbers that I want to allow but not necessarily have in my contacts list. Most of the time I don't even know I have gotten these calls unless I check a log this app keeps of such calls, which I can program. I then check the numbers to see if real or not before assigning them appropriately or calling back. It has worked well for me.

Whether you like it or not, the admin here does not seem to like posts that mention any specific type of way to block calls.  That's their choice.  They run the site.

Got call on cell phone 10:45am Sat; did not recognize the caller's number so did not answer. Caller did not leave any message.

I got a call twice from this number in Ambler, PA (215) 290-7698 saying "that it was the IRS and that they were filing a lawsuit against me, to call them back." The first time I just hung up, the second time I stayed until the recording was finished, then I tried calling back and a someone with a very strong Indian accent answered. They couldn't understand me, so I hung up. I reported this to the both TIGTA and FTC.

Call from this number said IRS was filing a lawsuit against me. Scam call! Report it to your local US Attorney's fraud unit.
