Another scam collection call wanting to verify info before they serve you in your county of residence... Ugh these guys need to stop.

Same voicemail as you. I called back from a blocked work line. They couldn't "find my info" asked for the name of company 3x and she said it so fast I couldn't understand her.

Been getting this message quite frequently. It comes from a Poqouson, VA number, but when they've called before, they've left a West Virginia call back number.

These people left 11 more complete messages in the time period starting July 8.  In the last message, I believe they told me to call above number.  The recording in all eleven involves what sounds like a middle-aged woman with a southern-midwestern American accent who seems to impersonate a lawyer.  They asked for information about my home and work.  One type of message talks about the processing department.  They talk about proceeding against me.  They say that if I don't respond, I forfeit my rights.  It switches to electronic sounding when it mentions my name, the call back number and I believe the "reference" number.  I believe that these are debt collector scammers.  I reported the last message to the Ohio AG.  Some of you folks may have also been told to call (701) 940-1342, a ND number and (304) 931-7156, a West Virginia number.  I reported these people to FTC, North Dakota consumer protections bureau and the West Virginia AG.  I have a feeling these may involve Nigerian scammers based on some of the comments.

Yep, this is the debt collector that is looking for a pony in a pile of manure, hoping to find gold.
Another phone number used by these "millennial gold miners" is 903-356-8738.

They called  and said they had two pending matters and I can solve the problem directly or wait for them to find me. They called from an unknown name number 904-474-0955 and left the 216-478-5118 to get in touch with them

They left threatening message for me on my ex mother in laws answering machine

I continue to receive phone calls threatening to visit my place of employment or my home to serve me papers on a couple outstanding matters. They call from a ares code 616 that's in my area but wants me to call back a 216 area code. I'm a little concerned because they have also contacted my mother. Is this really a scam or should I follow through and call? I don't know how to tell if this is really a scam or not. I dont need this continually phone calls.

They called and after a spiel they said - 'You have been warned' - I tried to call 216-478-5118 back and found that "mail box" was full - so glad I looked on line

It still is very possibly a scam.  They may have gleaned information on your mother from social media or whatever.  Report them to FTC, your state's AG/ consumer protection bureau and/or the Ohio AG and if you're brain is well enough that you can do it without getting a migraine or whatever and you have the records report all numbers these folks told you to call back to FTC.

They keep calling with the same message mentioned in other comments

This is a scam. 1st, legitimate debt collectors know they are not allowed to call a person's friends and family. Also, if someone (police, lawyers, etc.) wants to serve you papers, they don't tell you in advance so you can run! If they do call and say they have a warrant or papers to serve you, tell them okay, meet me at the local police station. They may get mad but legitimate process servers won't mind meeting at the police station. Just don't answer any numbers you do not know.

received this call today from 740-224-1815 Graysville Ohio and they left a voice mail as follows: "This imperative message is for (Tisha Walz-electronically added) I'm from the processing department, I received an order for you pertaining to two pending matters. Unfortunately because i am unable to reach you by phone, I may be actively pursuing you at your place of employment or your residence (tisha walls-again electronically added) you have the right to contact the client to resolve your case file voluntarily but do understand when you are located you forfeit that right, your case number is ******* (automated again) and you can reach their office at (216-478-5118-automated as well) .Tisha walls, you have been notified.  I returned the call to let them know they have the wrong number and there is no one here by that name, so NO-they "Tisha Walz/walls- has not been notified and I got "the party you are trying to reach is not available, please leave a message and the users mailbox cannot accept anymore message", also tried to call the original number 740-224-1815 and got the exact same message as the 216 number!!!

It's a scam, I have been getting the same message for about 5 years now.

I called this number to find out what they were calling about. They said it was debt that I hadnt finished paying off. I'm still with that same company and I went and got documentation proving othereise.

2164785118 Called as a debt collector & left message on my voice mail. Called back the number was on a long hold and when the woman came online she was rude and abrupt when asked for the company's name spoke too fast terrible accent. When I sought her to repeat she hung up on me.

This is a scam. FDCPA laws, which ALL persons trying to collect ANY debt have to follow are broken 20 times in just this message. Literally, if someone is trying to reach you to resolve a personal matter, as in debts, the only message they can leave is :  this message is for ( your name) please contact ( their name or company ) at 888-888-8888.  Thank you”.  That’s the most they are legally allowed to say. Leaving a threatening voicemail, as we have all received ( I’m assuming we’ve all received the same message because we are on this page ) , can result in their company ( and also the individual leaving said message )
