Called - returned call from cell phone to see who answered.  Said they were calling from the "National Police Fund" however, was not fooled for one second.  He answered the phone just "hello" - hung up.  I would block the caller.

He called a few minutes ago. He has a rather low deep voice and is the same scammer that called me from the 216-609-1827 number yesterday. He said he was Tom from the National Police Fund today. Yesterday he was Tom from the State Troopers Coaliltion Both scams and blocked

Sept 17 2017; called answering machine picked up- caller didn't leave a message.  Few minutes later called again from number 216-609-1827. Same thing, machine picked up, caller left no message.

It's now February 2019, and this SCAM is back. Probably the same guy with the same SCAM but using slightly different phone numbers and slightly different "charity" names.  Always "law enforcement related" but may be National Police Fund, State Patrol Officer' Fund, Police Chief Fund, etc.  Usually asks for someone by name but no one who is likely to live in your home.  When you say no one with that name is here, he says maybe I can help him.  Well, guess what?  I can't help him.  And will never help him.,.

I track all phone calls I receive and have discovered this number is used for different SCAMS.  Got a call a few minutes ago from a woman wanting to sell me a car warranty plan for my year-old car.  Same phone number as the "law enforcement charity" SCAM I reported above on Feb 22.  She assured me that she has never called me before.  Probably not, because last time it was some man soliciting for a fake charity.  A friend has an insurance business.  It's legitimate, and he is honest.  But he no longer makes legal, legitimate telemarketing calls because SCAMMERS have ruined telemarketing sales.  Same for legal, legitimate charities.  I assume all calls I get are frauds, and I hang up without comment.  Recently, I quit answering my phones (cell and landline) entirely.  My voicemail message says I don't talk to anyone without an ID and a reason for calling me.  My life has been much more peaceful since.
