Yes, I am also getting calls from this number.  It has shown up on my phone bill as a number coming from Mauritania (Northern Africa) They come every couple of days, but I never answer.

Yes, I am getting texts from this  number coming from Mauritania but only when I am in Europe .
Hmmmm.. and I have TMobile service.

Having looked back over past 3 mths T-mobile bills we see dozens of calls from this number - all coincide with being in Europe - classed as roaming and I suspect they coincide with the "free" welcome messages that you get.  T-mobile denies this. Needless to say I will see what happens next trip in  a few days and compare my phone records with on-line records.  Then its time for letters to those who can cause T-mobile grief.  Happy holidays ;-)

I got a bunch just after setting up a discount plan for europe with Tmobile, then a bunch while I was in europe.  They were always entitled free messages.

I just looked at my Tmobile bill from December, when I was in Europe, and every time I landed in a different country I got a bunch of these "free" welcoming messages. I just called Tmobile; the customer service person said they were from a third party but that Tmobile bills for them.
She suggested I put a spam block on my account for no charge. The downside of that is that you can't vote for American Idol. Such a sacrifice. You can get the spam block taken off at any time.
