Claimed I owed them over $700 for equipment that was returned and defective. I had cancelled Spectrum several months ago for poor service. Whatever equipment there might have been would have been returned in good working order having been in service for over three years. No equipment of this age costs more than $300 new and would have been fully depreciated anyway. Threatened to have police come to my home and take matter to court. I told them I would file with NYS PSC to withdraw their operating authorization in NY, and they owed me for three years of service on a line that didn’t work.

That the operator answering this number was with Xfinity, not Spectrum, that I had to pay up in 7 days when I’m out of state for the holidays for 30, that a policeman would appear at my door (we don’t have local police in this area), that they were going to court, and, most importantly could provide no information whatsoever as to what this equivalent was (only it’s $700 price tag) indicates to me that this is a scam.
