Automated Call trying to sell Furnace

Union gas left message regarding their rebate program

Scammer - this is NOT Union Gas

Calling my young daughters phone constantly.  but when i call the number bake  it always rings busy..

Rejected call manually. They didn't leave a VM.

missed the call on my cell. According to the info call originated from Burkina Faso in west Africa.

Called my phone no voicemail i call back busy busy,  i hate that;  how do they get your private number anyway???

They dial 10 random digits and your phone rings.  Why does everyone think that the only way someone can call you is if they actually know your phone number?

Random auto dialed.  Computer dials random numbers and when someone picks up forwards it to a human.

I received a call on my cell phone and let it ring out. 5 minutes later I received a call from them on my house phone. The the strange thing is that the cell phone number is new and only 2 weeks old and the only thing that links these two numbers together is a Rogers database that is also only 2 weeks old. So I'm not certain but the suggestion of  dialing 10 numbers randomly and hitting me in 5 minutes seems like quite the long odds. Like I said, the only thing linking these 2 numbers together is a Rogers database that is 2 weeks old, what is going on with our secure information that is supposed to be guarded by our service providers?

I am assuming both numbers are in the same area code and exchange?  Then they are simply dialing all the numbers in that area code and exchange.  Since you did not say, I have to guess that the caller ID number was the same on both devices, or are you assuming that it was the same entity calling you on both phones?

Yes the caller ID was same on both devices. However only the are code of my phone numbers is the same, the exchange is different. Which still leaves 7 number for a random dial-er to process, in other words 7 to the power of 10. That's almost 8 times Canada's population, which seems to take the randomness out of the equation.

Number called while I was not available. No voice message left and cannot call the number back.
All the phone companies sell their phone number lists as a way to make money. That's how they get your number. One person sells it, then that list gets sold again and again.

Received a call from this number.  I wasn't able to answer so it went to voice mail.  It was an automated message for Casi Clean Air in London, Ontario, stating that there were a number of government rebates available for furnace and air conditioning.  Gave the option to press 1 for customer service or 9 to be removed from their list.  Also gave an email address of casicleanair@gmail.com
Now I wish I had of answered it so I could have been removed from their list.

Automated message, I hung up immediately.
