North Georgia. Called me about 11:30 this morning on my cell, which is also registered on the Do Not Call List. Thank Goodness, I worked last night and slept thru it. I would not have been a happy camper. Amazing that they're coming up with all these numbers. They must have something or somebody doing a heck of a lot of random dialing, just picking area codes and prefixes and going from there. Mine is Area Code 706 and the Prefix is 270. So I bet they hit a lot of those this morning.

It just showed up as "Name Unknown" on mine.

They called and did not leave a message
I called back to see who it was...I was put on hold...
I called back again...no answer or place to leave a message

Me again...
they answered and gave a spill about the movie velveteen rabbit??

Company selling films will pay $70,000 over No Call complaints in agreement obtained by Nixon

St. Louis, Mo. — Two companies that market and sell films will pay $70,000 to the state of Missouri and develop a detailed plan to ensure future compliance with the state's No Call law according to a settlement secured today by Attorney General Jay Nixon.

The assurance of voluntary compliance, filed today in St.Louis City Circuit Court, was the result of a lawsuit Nixon filed in March against Feature Films For Families Inc. of Murray, Utah, and the Dove Foundation of Grand Rapids, Mich., alleging the companies conspired in a scheme to evade state No Call laws. Telemarketers from the Dove Foundation claimed its status as a charitable organization provided them with an exemption to the Missouri No Call law. In reality, the Dove Foundation was using that status to solicit sales for Feature Films For Families, a for-profit organization that sells DVDs and videos. The Attorney General's No Call unit recovered almost 300 complaints about the calls.

“Companies such as these that look for new ways to circumvent our No Call law are another illustration of how effective our Missouri law is,” Nixon said. “We always have been, and will continue to be, vigilant in protecting Missouri's consumers from unwanted telemarketers and will swiftly take action when there is a violation of the law.”

According to the agreement, the Dove Foundation and Feature Films For Families must pay $70,000 to the state Merchandising Practices Revolving Fund and obey all merchandising practices and No Call laws in the future. The respondents must also provide the Attorney General's Office with a detailed plan of practices and procedures they will implement in their businesses to ensure compliance with the state No Call law. They have also agreed to subscribe to, and remain current with, the Missouri No Call database.

Any future violation of the agreement by the respondents could result in contempt of court proceedings and civil penalties of up to $2,000 per violation.

I just got a call from this # too, and I am also on the do not call list.  I did not answer the number, and they did not leave a message.

I live in NC. The number just called me but I didn't answer. Didn't leave a message so after reading this board I called it back but I got the "Your call did not go through" message :/

Today received a call from this number in the morning (EST)on CELL

I just got a call from that number on my cell phone. no voice on the other end but i could hear my own voice repeat in the background. i'm in Illinois also. it looks to ba a michigan number calling

same here, From NC and just got a call, they didn't leave a message.

I'm from WV and got the phone call earlier today...no message was left.....it's a Michigan number....weird.

My cowker and myself just got this call also.  We are in NC.

I just got the same call, same spill of "Hi, I'm blah blah, and I'm calling on behalf of blah blah blah"  and this being the 3rd time I've received the call I said, well, I really don't have time, and he got pushy telling me it would only take a second and I continually asked him to take my name off his list.  I finally hung up on him...

I along with 7 girls in my middle school classes, Recieved this call. Our phone numbers have nothing in common and since it is a private school, we dont even all live in the same city. We all had are phones on silent (during classes) so we didnt answer. We all recieved the call within 28 minutes of each other. We are in TN and filing a complaint to the Attorney General. we just checked online some more and when we searched the number a company called LUCRE INC. came up...has anyyone else found this?
