ANYBODY CAN FIND ANYTHING ABOUT YOU ONLINE IF THEY WANT. Everything is electronic. These sickos find old debts or charges on you and try to intimidate personal info out of you. Sometimes just calling them back is all they want. Or they have gotten ahold of some partial info, part of your SS number, half of your bank routing number, etc, and come up with whatever they can think of to get you to tell them the rest of what they need to screw you over. If possible, don't answer. Definitely do not call back. If in doubt, call the police. I'm sure they are hearing of these things more and more often. If you're getting these calls through an Internet phone (comcast, vonage, qwest) it's going to be basically impossible to track them down.

Ignore. Give no info, no reaction. If you don't recognize the number, especially if it's 'long distance' or an 800 number, your best bet is to pick up and hang up. They don't get to talk to you, they don't get to leave a message with their threats. They'll screw up and get caught eventually.

I received a call from 240-764-4265, a special investigator named Tyra James. All the info she had was right, even down to the client. I could not lie, so I took care of the matter. I received my conditional release letter and I'm satisfied...nothing seems to be scamish to me about this company....Maybe if you people pay your bills you won't have these problems....

Sabrina - it sounds like you were ripped off. I got a call from this "agency" this morning and they left the same number on my machine. I called back and got a message saying the number is no longer in service. Then I googled the number and got this thread. Sounds like a definite scam.
