- gah!| 1 replysame number just called here, claiming to be "helping" me with "a problem" with my computer.. i've had this call come several from different numbers which is how they circumvent legal consequences. they try to get you to fish around in your registry to change some values, which tells me ... no more banking online! it disturbs me that they know my name ...
- Caller: V32620383000004
- Scam! replies to gah! It's just a scam. They know nothing about your computer. They look up your name in the phone book. They call my elderly parents too and they don't even have a computer (and have NEVER had a computer)! They just want your information.
- sunshineMy boyfriend just called from the Dominican Republic and this number came up, so I guess some calls are legit. No idea why it routed through this number, it's a BC area code and he has an Ontario Cell phone...
- jordancall appeared as 'anonymous' on caller id. Let it ring. Of course there was no message.

Watch out for Peter Parker. - GG| 1 replyThis number shows as routing through City Hall area in Victoria , caller with east indian accent says there is a problem with your windows computer and does have your name. Hard to figure why these calls cannot be traced properly.
- Caller: no idea
- JacquieThey have called twice in a week and I know it's the computer guy trying to phish for info so I don't answer it. When I did answer it the first time, I said..."we don't have a computer" and he apologised and hung up. Obviously they keep trying because now they're phoning again...

- UpsetWe have received more than a few calls from this number, they are now calling after 10 pm and before 7 am.
Something about a problem with the computer and the Windows application.
We find them rude and inconsiderate. - AnnThey are still active, and still using the same computer scam
- BC Resident replies to GG> Hard to figure why these calls cannot be traced properly.
Actually, it is dead-easy to configure any VOIP ("Voice Over Internet Protocol") adapter (costs about $50) to show *ANY* caller-ID information (number and name).
With VOIP, you can choose any area-code (like 206/Seattle or 416/Toronto) and any number. - BC Resident replies to Belchdog> I tried calling back and the number was disconnected. Kinda freaky.
Better for the scammer to cite a "not-in-service" number than to (accidentally) "hijack" an in-service number belonging to some innocent person who is *NOT* in any way affiliated with the scammer.
If you do a "call-back", be polite. Tell the person that some scammer has "hijacked" their number, and that they might be getting more "crank-calls" (early-morning, late-night) from people whom the scammer has called. - dhThey called and asked if we were receiving "unwanted calls". They kept repeating this over and over, no matter what response we gave.
