SCAM - automated call, computer generated voice said the call is from the CRA (Canadian Revenue Agency), and  there is a civil court action against me as well as an arrest warrant because of some tax issue.

The call display showed number: 1-250-419-9744. The recorded voice also repeated the same phone number telling me I have to call them back.

The number 250-419-9744 does actually go to the scammers. The person that answered was an East Indian male and the background noise was a call center with others on their telephones. He answered the telephone with "Hello, CRA, How can I Help you."

I immediately said he was not the CRA and I hung up.

The CRA does not send out automated telephone calls or emails threatening with a warrant unless you call back to resolve the money issue. CRA will always use regular mail to your last listed address and in that lettter it will include a legitmate phone number to call back with a name of a real CRA person.

This up-front threat is a method used by scammers to intimidate and force you to comply to their directions.

Since this is a Telus phone line they are using and the call back number belongs to Telus, I contacted Telus via their email address - fraud@telus.com

I have asked Telus to shut that phone number down.

In that video example, its a male voice with an British Accent. In the call I got today, it was a female voice, Canadian accent. - but what was said in the automated call was the same, except a different phone number in my case.
