Called land line. No one was there when I answered

While the phone is ringing, I'm looking the number up on the Net. If a "800notes..." item is found, I **know** it's another blasted spammer and ignore the car. (They never leave a message--even if sometimes they do let the phone ring until the answering machine comes on.)

The call says "AHDV" on the caller ID. Claim to be collecting for homeless vets. Asked them to stop calling and take off the calling list. He continued to speak over me and I hung up.

Texas has a problem with registering charities their fundraisers and usable databases, so sad!
You have consumer rights to know the fundraiser calling and to be placed on their internal do not call lists use them.

I now am forced to let the answering machine pick up all calls due to constant scam and money beggars.  Of course no message left.

My caller ID shows several calls from this number while I was not at home. They left no message.
