Caller ID said "SPAM? Name Unav".  My husband had turned off the sound on the TV when the call came in.  Answered but said nothing (he said he thought that the machine at the other end was waiting for a voice).  Waited about 10 seconds and then hung up.  I HATE HATE HATE spammers.

That one-second pause after you say "Hello?" is a pretty good indication that it's a robocaller. In this case, they were asking me to take a survey. I couldn't do it this time, but when I get a live caller, I always say that I'm happy to take your survey - AFTER I receive a $75 consulting fee for the first fifteen minutes or fraction thereof.  That stops the calls after that.

Political callers are exempt from having to respect the federal and state DO NOT CALL registries.

Political Survey . . . took about 8 minutes. Seemed pretty neutral!

Caller comes up as SPAM.  It's a political survey of some sort. They call multiple times a day. Pain in the butt.

I DID block this number weeks ago.....continues to try to call our house MULTIPLE times every day.

They call me every day at least 3 times/day.  I've blocked the call so after my phone rings once, they get disconnected.  This is getting annoying.

Finally blocked.  Don’t like that they mention my first name.

Yes. I had six calls  today from that number, plus other numbers showing spam on callwr id.

Called around 7 times in 2 hours--dinner hour of course!

Political survey, which is exempt from the do-not-call lists.  Must have been sponsored by one party because the questions got more and more leading, with fewer neutral responses available.  I disconnected when they just got too one-sided.

That's why I keep the landline
I give it to everybody
If they don't leave a message they are not legit!

They called about an alleged debt that I supposedly defaulted on over 15 years ago.

Any time someone calls claiming you owe money, tell them to follow the law by MAILING you proof of the debt along with proof theyh're legally entitled to collect said debt. Refusal to do so for any reason confirms the scam.
Phone calls, texts, faxes, and emails are NOT legal methods of debt validation.
