Received text from this number from the "GL Group of VA - Benefits Rep Position" giving me an online interview option of an upcoming date and two times. I selected a time via text. Next text message received is to confirm online interview.

In the meantime, the name of the company is not familiar, I checked all documents in my job search. On Indeed, Glassdoor, LinkedIn, and there's no evidence I saved or applied for this position.  A Google Search did lead me to a (wonderful and very informative) Reddit post from a year ago: https://www.reddit.com/r/WorkOnline/comments/t5db3z/does_anyone_recognize_this_company_gl_group/

Apparently they are associated with https://www.altig.com, American Income Life. They want you to obtain an insurance license (your cost) to sell insurance plans.

Will update situation.

It is more than that.  This is just barely not a Pyramid Scheme.  It is Multi Level Marketing and you work on commission only.  In order to make more money you need to con other people into selling policies for you.

I had the exact same experience.  I received a text with 2 interview options on New Year’s Day.  Very suspect.  I did not apply for any position with this company or any job with an insurance company.  🤨

Received a text with an interview request for 2 days from now with 2 time slots, there is no way I would have applied for anything close to this!

There is no evidence that they are "preying on veterans".  Just because you are a veteran and they contacted you doesn't mean that they are singling those people out.  On the contrary I would be willing to bet that they are contacting lots and lots of people because their marketing plan, just like a Pyramid Scheme requires lots and lots of suckers to work for them.

Got a text from this number addressing me as "Claudia", which is definitely NOT my name, and thanking me for applying, which I did not do. I found the number listed on this site and texted them back directing them to not contact me again. Blocked their number, too.
