- Annoyed Maryland UserI picked up on them once after they had called me DAILY with no message, I gave them a very annoyed "WHAT?!" They are solicting funds for the Montgomery County Fire Department, however my caller ID shows the number being in New Market, MD which is CLEARLY in Frederick County. STUPID, STUPID!

- donotcall memberI have been receiving calls from this number for about a year on a roughly bi-monthly basis. Unfortunately, I receive so many telemarketing calls that I can't be sure which telemarketer is associated with which number, but I think(?) this is the one that solicits 'donations' under the guise of local police agencies or trade associations (I have specifically requested that they remove my number from their listings on several occasions, but the calls continue). Most of the time, I just let my voice mail (which begins with the 3 tones that are supposed to tell computer dialers that the number is out of service) answer the call, but whoever it is never leaves a message.

Monrovia MD on ID. Nobody there. - E. L.I picked up the phone and the man from the other line is looking for a person named "Yuran Eshol". I said he dialed the wrong number & he said a vulgar phrase that sounds the same as the name. I usually get this call between 5:30pm to 8:30 pm. Very annoying

- SteveI get calls from this number about 3 times a week. They also say "Is Mr. (my last name) there" I always say they have the wrong number but they keep calling back. I keep reporting them to the donotcall.gov complaint list everytime they call.

I searched on MCCFFA and got http://www.montgomerycountyfirefighters.com/ then clicked executive board. Sparks is the head of the firefighers' union. Maybe if he gets slammed by the residents of the county he will put a stop to it.
I sent him a message. You should too.- Caller: MCCFFA

- RicoI usually don't get annoyed at telemarketers because 1) they generally call when I'm not at home and 2) I realize that they are just doing their job. But this number called me on a Sunday morning at 10:45am - not cool.
I called the number back and it's an automated message telling you why they're calling and giving you another number to call if you want more info. There was not an option to have your number removed from the list.- Caller: MCCFFA

- JanetI get lots of these types of solicitations from organizations who claim an association with local police and firefighters, usually to help support families of fallen members. It's offensive. I already pay the salaries and benefits of county employees, including insurances, through my taxes and don't need to be hit up for more money. Who is going to solicit extra funds for me and my family???

- Ex!Got a call this evening from this number, with no one there at first. After a second "Hello!?!" from me, a guy who replied with a tone like "What's your problem?." Then he asked for my ex's new wife when neither of them has ever been at this number! Way to get on my good side, buddy.

for the correct numbers. - pyroIt started mid April with calls from 301-723-7009. These were either answered by answering machine or I connected and instantly disconnected the call. Now calls are coming in from 301-882-9981, MCCFFA. Both ID as from Montgomery County Career Firefighters Association. Most recent call was SUNDAY 9:30 AM - VERY ANNOYING. I think Jason has the right idea, it might be time to start annoying the head of the union about these calls. sparks@iafflocal1664.com will get an email each time I get a call.

- John Macallister| 1 replyI work for a similar union here in MD fundraising. If you don't want to give, ask to be put on the National DNC list and the calls from our organization will stop. You may continue to get calls from other organizations soliciting funds. It is not true for at least our organization that phone numbers "leads" are sold for profit. And I find it exceptionally ridiculous that people think we "take advantage" of the elderly. Also, I do understand how annoying these calls can be, especially since prime calling time is from 5pm-9pm, family time/diner time for most. But if you answer the phone and either give, or respectfully decline, the calls from us will stop for 6mos to 1yr, depending on your preference. If you just hate telemarketers, or more specifically, people raising funds for a good cause, "i.e. M.C.C.F.F.A. or the M.T.A" just respectfully ask to be removed from the list (you may have to ask a second time during the conversation, as we are trained to ask why you are asking) and it shall be so. I also hear that some people will only give if they are speaking to a real fire fighter/paramedic/EMS/police officer/etc. These professionals belong on the streets keeping us safe, responding to emergencies, and protecting us 24/7, not on the phone soliciting. That's why they hire us to solicit, we are professional fund raisers. So in a nutshell, please be respectful, and patient, and don't freak out on someone who is raising money for the fire fighters, police, EMS, or any other public service. We're just doing our job, the job that the first responders cant do.
