This is a new operation -- they started calling for the first time ever this month.  Most likely some new scam operation trying to get donations to "help veterans", but actually ends up lining the pockets of some scam artists.

I am getting several calls a day from this organization. Thanks to Caller ID, I don't answer, but annoying nonethe less.  This haa been gong on for several weeks.

They must be making their rounds b/c they just called me.  Second time this week.  I didn't answer and they did not leave a message.

I get a call from these [***] everyday...sometimes like at 9am this morning.  Sometimes they call twice a day but I never answer because it shows up on caller ID.  Of course they never leave a message.  So much for having you number listed with the national do not call list!!!

This is the "American Ex-Prisoners of War Service Foundation".  Never heard of them before December 19, 2007.

They started calling me the day after a scathing expose in the Washington Post about purported "veterans service groups" that have been abusing the charity of Americans.  One of the groups that received an "F" rating was AMVETS, because they've been pocketing some 90+% of the money they raise.

Oddly, I stopped getting my three-times-per-day calls from AMVETS (which had been going on for four years) on Dec 18th, and started getting twice-per-day calls from AEXPOWSF on Dec 19th.

Coincidence?  I don't think so!!

This number actually dials our fax machine, so it is obviously junk.  Happens quite often.

Same thing happening here.  For the past couple of weeks this number has been showing up on our caller ID...we never answer it and they never leave a msg.  They call several times a day, almost every day and it IS annoying!

We have been receiving these calls for several weeks now. They usually call 3 times per day even on Saturday and Sundays. While I have never answered, every few days I get a call from a similar number (301) 882-9982 that reads NWBA.

In addition to AEXPOWSF (301-882-9984), calls from similar numbers and likely the same organization are from CMC (301-882-9983), and NWBA (301-882-9982).

After receiving many calls from this phone number, I finally decided to pick up the phone and answer this call.  It was a recording stating that I was eligible for a low interest loan.  I just hung up while they were still talking.  Searching on the internet revealed that this number is located in New Market, Maryland.  I also found that this number is with Core Communications, Inc.  Probably a telemarketing company.  What happend to the Federal "Do Not Call" listing?  I went into that site and applied again, just to play it safe.  People may want to apply again for the Do Not Call listing.
