- kristy replies to Jsame here . I did a google search and contacted BBB it's fake and a total scam. I also asked an attorney and told me it was a scam.
- L replies to J| 8 repliesOMG...I just got this same call yesterday. Whatever will go wrong does go wrong all the time for me so I just assumed it was legit. I had a Wachovia account closed years ago as a teen when I was dumb and irresponsible. OMG what do I do now? I thought it was real since it's a real law firm CRAP!!!

This isn't really the place to be looking for an Attorney or legal advice if your being sued, but you can find out on your own if there is in fact any such law suit against you by calling your local Court and ask.Quote:OMG what do I do now?
Legitimate law suits send Notification via US Mail, not by phone...if they found your phone number, then they also found your address.....so something to think about.
Well, if you know its fake, then why are you asking what to do? Just do like you would with any other phone call you know is junk.Quote:I thought it was real ......... - BigA replies to L| 2 replies
What makes you think that this is a real law firm? Because they said so?Quote:I thought it was real since it's a real law firm - BigA replies to BigATheir site went up 1/20/19 and is set to expire 1/30/20. Flashy site, address is a virtual office. SEC is investigating. They can't properly spell as they misspelled collections as "collcetions". They used a privacy service out of Ontario for the website.
- jim| 2 repliesHamilton Jacobs & Associates treathened me over overdraft at Wachovia almost 10 years ago. I was having tuition paid directly from my account but when I decided to pay by check and notified them, THEY CONTINUED TO DEDUCT THE MONEY! When I tried to speak to a supervisor in customer service I WAS TOLD TO GO LOOK IT UP IN THE PHONE BOOK AND THEY HUNG UP ON ME! Wells Fargo which bought Wachovia, probably sold the supposed debt to Hamilton Jacobs & Associates.

- Arthur| 6 repliesGot a voice mail today so I returned the call. I was transferred to a Mr. Kennedy who tried to say I had an outstanding debt to Wachovia now Wells Fargo and they would sue me or have my banking rights revoked. When I tried to inquire about this he said I was over speaking him and he hung up the call. I called back and asked for anyone other than Kennedy. I was connected to a Ms, Coehn. During our conversation I asked if I could go to Wells Fargo since I bank there and discuss this issue she said no they can't help me. I asked for proof of this debt and she said no. She said they couldn't take my word that I didn't have this account so I asked why should I take her word. The only way she said I can resolve this issue was to pay up or get a police report that about identity theft. I have no problem with paying my debts if they truly belong to me

- Hanzy replies to Arthur| 2 repliesI’m getting the same calls repeatedly. They finally sent me a piece of paper with just threats, no proof of the debt from 2004. This is getting so old. They hang up on me when I ask any questions. I’d like to hurt someone over there. I’m about to give them the money so they’d leave me alone. Not really but I’ve had enough.
- Ida Rehman replies to w| 2 repliesI received a call and letter from same so called law firm! They claimed I owe past funds from a closed account 15 years ago. I went directly To Wells Fargo Bank and afternoon checking on past account, I was told that they never hired Hamilton Jacobs and Associates for any accounts and I do not owe any funds to them. I will report them to Better Business Bureau for fraud. Good luck to everyone who has been harasser by them .
- Basted"I don't know anything about it. You'll have to put it in writing and mail it to me. I won't talk on the phone with you. Bye."

- Leah KeslerGot a letter in the mail from a law firm (appears to be) Hamilton, Jacobs & Associates for a Wachovia/Wells Fargo account. They threatened with a lawsuit for an outrageous balance. We haven’t banked with them in over 14 years. Called Wells Fargo and they said that they do not sell their accounts to law firms, they have their own debt collection within Wells Fargo. They looked up the listed account, and social security number listed on this letter. No records of said account could be found. The gentleman at Wells Fargo assures is that it was in dead a scam.

- Charlene WilliamsSo One - Two weeks ago I got a phone from Hamilton, Jacobs and Associates. Them claiming i owed a debt to Wachovia/Wells Fargo from 2014. When trying to talk to the mediator whom seem like it took then forever to get on the phone, they were aggressive, unprofessional, they wouldn’t let me speak or ask questions. Their story began to grow holes in them. They accused me of lying and not being honest. I called Wells Fargo and they confirmed that it was a scam and that i didn’t owe them anything. So Today I got a letter claiming I owe twice the amount or my current bank account will revoked. These people have nothing else better to do.

- Melanie Dukes| 7 repliesgot a call from these people a month ago said i owed money to wachovia\ wells fargo. they were aggressive and i didnt feel comfortable. I called the bank they said i do not owe money so i disregarded it. went to use my debit this morning at pharmacy and it declined because my account was frozen. had Hamilton and Jacobs been less pushy and explained why the bank doesnt have the debt i could have made arrangements to start paying this. now i have to deal with check systems to unfreeze my accounts and they only respond with mail. this company needs to be less aggressive so people can properly understand.
