Trying to buy goods and have me send money to a shipping service. Meanwhile i get sent a no good check. Scamer!!

Am receiving many text messages, expressing interest to buy an item I placed on kijji . Message is wanting to send me a certified check, to cover item cost and shipping charges....... I now am sceptical that this is legit.......... I 'm thinking this will be a bogus check, I cash it, pay for shipping,  then it comes back for charges not covered...... he gets item and shipping costs I get nothing........Is there Anything I can do to this scammer?

same thing wanted to send a certified cheque and then for me to pay for the shipping out of it. Told him I'd only accept a money transfer from the back. Never heard nothing back.
