Yes, this number can belong to a bank, but no, that doesn't mean that is who is calling. Phone numbers are so easy to spoof (fake) that you should NEVER give out personal, or financial information on a call you did not make. Using a number from the back of a credit card, phone book, or statement. Be extra suspicious of text, email, or fax.

Got a call on my cell which is not my primary Chase phone number so it was strange that they called that number. I didn't answer so they left a message for me to call 1-800-352-2159.
I called the 800 number and the woman said she was from the Chase Lending Department and my account had come up for review. When I asked how I got on a Lending list she said anyone who has an account or credit card with Chase can be called.

I just received a call from this number saying that they were reaching out to Chase customers as part of their random account review.  they started by complementing me on paying on time, etc. and then started asking questions that sounded like they were fishing for information - we noticed that between all your Chase accounts you have a large balance of $XX and that is unusual for you, any recent activity or change?  I refused to give information, and questioned if they were legitimate.  they knew the last four digits of my cc and when I had made my last payment (don't let them fool you!). I still refused and they never directly answered my question as to the purpose of the call.

Then they wanted to update their records, so they wanted to verify if my income level had changed since the previous year - like I'm going to tell them that!!!! I ended the conversation without giving any information.  I immediately called Chase using the phone number in the back of my cc.

Apparently legit, Call came in from 302-427-3930
I followed up with the Chase Customer service # on the back of my card to verify that the caller had made notes in the computer on my account and reflected the information provided.
    The notes were there.
Still, there has to be a better way than calling cold... Maybe they make a note on the Billing statement or on the Bank website alerting that the call will be received or for us to call them or a local branch.

I got a call from   302-427-3930 on my cell phone,  I did not answered it.    I never answer the phone if I don't recognize the number.  They said that they were calling from Chase Bank and he knew the last 4 digits of the CC number.   The person that left the message sounded like a scam artist.   I never called back.

This is NOT Chase. I spoke with the Fraud department at Chase to verify if this number was associated with them and the woman that I spoke to confirmed it is not. Do not give them any personal information.

I had been speaking with Chase Card Services, and at my request, they were to call me back. I believe that this was the return call, although I was not in a position to answer the call. I have subsequently learned the information that I needed online. It appears from the comments above that this is a legitimate Chase number.

I  got a phone call from 3024273930. When I called back, the answering machine asked me to call the number on the back of my card. I did, and the lady checked the number and told me she coundn't find the number( 302-427-3930 ). It is not in the Chase system. So better be careful! So many bad guys try to use other people's name to apply credit, get money that they don't deserve. I'm a victim of identity theft.

Woman sounded very professional, said she was from Chase re: Amazon credit card applied for. Knew personal info about me. I said I will call back when I have time. She gave me phone number to call, along with reference number for my Amazon card application. Based on previous comments they are getting better at scam-script.

Number is from Chase Credit Card (Lending area).  Requested a credit increase and they were calling my phone numbers on my account because of a credit freeze which required them to speak to me.
