- EmilyPeople came to my door with information about an air purifier. I should not have given them a phone number. They gave me a call later that night (not leaving a message) and the next afternoon. They said that I had won a purifier and started asking me a lot of detailed questions about my household, my job, etc. I answered a few questions and decided it was not worth it. It just seems suspicious to me.

- be wareyi *think* this is a vendor that was at a recent local home (improvement) showcase. the form that was given to fill out for a drawing requested basic contact info AND household income, owner/renter, how many people are in the household, marital status, etc. when i did not complete that info the vendor asked me and followed me several steps ... i told him that it was not his business to have that info. {i don't mind giving the info when it is anonymous}
- JaeI got a call from this number late this afternoon. The CID said AirFlowEssent. I had no idea who they were or why they would call me. I thought it might be a spoofed number. I didn't answer it. In general, I don't answer calls from anyone I don't know. If they really want to, they can leave a message and either I'll call back or not.
I decided to look up number online and found they are Rocky Mountain Aquastream, a Rainbow Authorized Distributor, and/or Air Flow Essentials, which is the same company. So, it was obviously a marketing cold call. According to their website, they sell Rainbow brand vacuum cleaners, which are extremely overpriced vacuums that use water instead of bags or containers to collect the dust and dirt. I had a couple of them once upon a time, so I know all about them. Yes, they work well, but I would never buy another one. They are heavy, and even more so when full of water, a pain to clean, and don't balance well on stairs, due to their base's design. Rainbow vacuums are overpriced by at least $700. Their selling price is north of $1000 per unit.
These sorts of companies use lost leaders to get a foot in your door. They have drawings at various places, such as Home Improvement Expos (I haven't been to one in many years) to get your name and phone number. Then they call you claiming you've won a free gift (i.e. a free air purifier, or whatever), which is probably a $10-$30 item. If they sell you whatever they are REALLY selling, you can believe they will make hundreds, if not thousands of dollars in profit.
I really hate companies that say they must 'qualify buyers' by getting more info than they really need, such as one's personal household numbers, household income level(s), education level(s). Some claim they will only speak to both the husband and wife together, yada, yada, yada. They do this so they can charge more for whatever they are selling, and try to pit the husband and wife against each other. That's a know scam. Total b.s. people!
From what I read in the previous two comments, they try to get way more information on people then any company would need for most any reason, especially if they are just selling a vacuum cleaner. Maybe they collect all the information to resell to other companies, or to know what they can probably scam out of the potential buyers. Just don't fall for it. If you go to Home Expos, don't put your name in for drawings, unless you WANT to get called and likely scammed, and have your name and phone number sold to others on lead sheets.- Caller: Air Flow Essentials

- Tim| 5 repliesThis is a legitimate company with a fantastic unusual prod. I saw the demo. No I do not work for them. It is pricy so they want a two income household. Is worth seeing
- CelticDragon replies to TimYou're still doing a shill post for this company. If you knew who the caller was, why did you come to a PHONE NUMBER SEARCH SITE?
- Slim replies to Tim| 1 replyQuote:This is a legitimate company with a fantastic unusual prod.
Hmmmm....
1) I'm in Texas, and we use prods for other purposes. They are not unusual at all.
2) ANY unsolicited call from a "telemarketer" to a person registered on the Federal or State Do Not Call list is both illegal and HIGHLY suspicious!
3) If you knew all about that company, why did you search for their phone number in a phone complaint site?
Slim's supersecret spy system looked deep into its crystal ball, and found a name:
dba Airflow Essentials Inc.
Rocky Mountain Airstream claims they are members of the Direct Sellers Association, and follow all ethical rules. I wonder if those ethical rules mention Federal / State Do Not Call rules? I wonder if Airflow Essentials fulfilled at least the mandated 5 out of 15 DSA rules?
(fulfillment of 5 out of 15 DSA rules are all that is needed per year) - BigA replies to TimStop back tomorrow there "Tim" Thanks to your shilling I have decided to give your wonderful company center stage. Wonder how many complaints I can dredge up? Wonder what their BBB rating will be? Wonder if they are even a real business? Wow this almost sounds like a soap opera. Tell your boss that thanks to you and you alone, they will be getting the advertising they truly deserve.
- cherice| 1 replyA Rainbow brand vacuum sales person came to my home about 20 years ago. I don't call that "unique" if it's at least that old. I think they showed up because of a phone call that was originally made to us. My husband is such a sucker.
So while they're there showing us the vacuum, they vacuum my already vacuumed floor. One or two swipes and they managed to pull out a lot of crap. Which I thought suspicious because I had two little ones at the time and was vacuuming at least two times a day if not more. I'm thinking they somehow added the dirt to it while demonstrating.
After the FOREVER sales pitch was over and we found out how much it was....bha ha ha ha ha ha ha! Oh yeah, hell no! And that was 20 years ago, you know, now that I think about it, it maybe have been more 23 years ago.
If it was legit, they would sell their vacuums like pretty much every other vacuum manufacturer, in a store.
And as far as them asking all those questions. Yes, they take that info and make leads, they sell them. There's a grading system with leads. I don't remember how they grade them but the higher the household income, the more expensive the lead it.- Caller: 3034271161

- Yuri replies to TimYou need to up your game, man. That's some embarrassing shilling.
- BigA replies to chericeI bought one because one of my friends was selling it. I was trying to help her out. It did a good job, but all that dirt trapped in the water and then you had to constantly take it and dump it. Way, way too much trouble to use. Thought they went out of business a long time ago. I think I ended up giving it back to her so that she could have the extra parts.
- BigA replies to SlimThere may be more to this then we realize. First, neither company name is registered with the direct sellers association. Second, an address that D & B has comes up with a debt collector. Gathering more information now and will get back with the results.
