Erica, how ironic, this Alex Green just told me his badge number is 2785, and that the street address where he was.......get ready,   8 Hulk Hogan Street, New York City, New York..  This is so far fetched that I am going to sent an e-mail to the FBI, maybe they can get an handle on these folks who are representing themselves as Federal Agents of some kind.  I even try to tell them that I do not have a loan out and "why in the world would I go to Denver from Dallas"?  I also have spoken to the so-called Detective David Jones, what is our country coming to when someone from possibly Pakistan, Afghan, and ohh yes, China, we must not forget where (Alex Green) said he was from.  This time he spoke to me as if I had promised him a payment of some type, which I most definitely did not do. Finally I hung up on him and he(Alex Green) leaves me a message that they are sending a car for me and that I will be taken to the Judge.
Now if I am not mistaken, it is against the law to threaten someone with the promise of jail if they do not pay up on a past due bill.  Of course this is something I will have to carry out an extensive search on myself, but I seriously freaked out when they said they were with the Federal Department of Justice, and if I did not return the call that the matter would be out of their hands and they would hate to see me go to jail.  Especially if I had small children and got arrested in front of them. I fully intend to persue this matter until these people, company, franchise, whatever it is No Longer Has Access to my personal information as they do now.  I do not believe that any one entity including the Governmnet should have all of these informations at their disposal so readily, and not have to worry if someone had already used my informations bringing about this supposed loan issue they are hounding me for right now.   Oh well, I've bent your ear and vented enough to put it into words to whatever powers that be within our government.  Thanks for listening.  Oh yea, the address is for the Washington Monument, how dare they!!!

Your legal research need not be so extensive. You are correct, the extortionist threats made by these frauds rudely violate FDCPA. It's all right here:

    http://www.ftc.gov/os/statutes/fdcpajump.shtm

The same federal law grants private right of action to serve a real summons for the trouble .... IF you find a valid US address. These thugs are usually operating outside our borders as fake payday loan collectors.

I can't wait to hear one of these fools works on Roddy Piper Boulevard.
