- Rich| 1 replyThese callers are B I G credit card criminals, known as the card service scammers. Under NO circumstances give these lowlifes your credit card number, or you will regret it forever!
- Caller: card service scammers
- Tom replies to RichRich: What is the sequence of numbers? Have these scammers called you on all multaiple different numbers?
- JohnThe card service scammers WILL 'service' our credit cards, BUT, when they finish 'servicing' them, they will have NO available credit remaining! People that are fooled into having their cards 'serviced' will have a MINIMUM of $795.00 charged to them, and many times the ENTIRE amount remaining on the card. The card service scammers are a disgusting group of degenerates, who prey mainly on the low income, and the elderly, but will cheat anyone that they can!
- Caller: credit card scammers--crooks!
- Sick of these scammers| 1 replyNumber just called through yet again with the same number as a thousand times before (credit card scammers).. I allowed my answering machine to screen the call this time, and caller left no message. This caller has been relentless, and has been added to my new telephone's blocking feature/list (since my phone provider does not offer call blocking). The call shows up as a "cell phone" with the number 305-368-7505 on caller ID, and I do not know anyone in the Miami/Dade County area... heck, I don't know anyone in the entire state of Florida. Can someone do something about these calls?? We can all report them with each subsequent call, yet they persist. Why are the laws not working as they should? Why is our information being sold in lists to the highest bidders? One can be on the National Do Not Call Registry, and it does absolutely no good. I have received more calls since registering with the NDNCR, and it is rather frustrating!!
- Caller: "Cell Phone"- credit card scam
- AllisonBut they can lower your credit interest rates!
I dialed 9 to speak to a representative as they called my work. I couldn't finish saying this is a business line before they hung up on me...I hope they deleted the number, but I won't hold my breath on it.- Caller: Credit card scam
- SD replies to Sick of these scammers"The laws are not working as they should" because these are scammers! Think about it! Their plan to steal your money is illegal to begin with - why would you expect them to respect the niceties of telecommunications laws like the do not call list? When was the last time you got a telemarketing call from a legitimate company? Just before you put your number on the DNC list, right? The law does work - except for lawbreakers who don't care about even much more important laws, like theft.
A lot of people here criticize the FTC for not tracking them down. The reason why they can't is the small-government tea party types. Everyone wants smaller government and lower taxes - until they need the government to do something for them. Then they complain! Anyone who votes for a "shrink the government" candidate has no right to complain when the government isn't there to do something for them. The fact is, the tax-cut party has managed to decrease agencies' funding - including the FTC, the FCC, and *all* the others except the defense department - to the point where they don't have enough staff to get much of anything done. That's why these rogue telemarketers remain free to continue to harass us. If you give the FTC enough funding to do their job, they'd like nothing better than to go after these guys. But they can't do it on the ever-shrinking funding they get.
Small government people need to put up or shut up. - Pissed offReceived robo call for these scammers. Usually when I press 9 asking to be removed they typically hang up this time when asked to be removed they refused until I give DOB (which is not something I will ever give out - I'd like to protect my identity). When asked to be transfered to manager for non-complance he started to get very vulger and offensive. I won't repeat what he said but think of the worst thing possible you could say about a female or race and thats what he said, laughing the whole time. To top it off he had the audacity to call me an @sshole b/c I was getting pissed followed by more vulgar and offensize words. Would love to know who these "kids" are so that can be stopped and have charges pressed against them.
- Caller: credit card scam

YOU ARE A TELEMARKETER, AND I DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH ANY COMPANY THAT USES TELEMARKETING AS A FORM OF ADVERTISING". DON'T ANSWER UNKNOWN CALLS. DON’T HAVE YOUR NUMBER REMOVED! When you press the number to have your number removed, all you do is confirm that your number is a working one and then they sell your known active number to another scammer. Now I either block the numbers or I don't answer the phone at all.
Let me explain my idea of ROBO CALLS. Each area code has 9,999,999 numbers fyi (7 digits). Add to that that there are 800 possible area codes. The program starts calling every number that it can in succession. So they don't need to buy or obtain lists from anyone. I am going to copy and paste and post this info for each number that calls me for this web site (9,999,98 numbers times 800 more to copy and paste to).
NOTHING IS GOING TO STOP THESE SCAMMERS AND LAZY COLLECTION AGENCIES (statute of limitations on debt: http://www.creditinfocenter.com/rebuild/statuteLimitations.shtml) who call everyone with the same name instead of looking up the right one and all we can do is block them or use call forward selective.. DNC does not work when they are robo dialing all possible random numbers. The authorities can not or will not help either.
So, just block them, , and continue using this great site for information to be in control of your own home and cell phone calls. If it turns out that you did not answer a call from someone you know (number not on this site), just call them back. No problem. It’s a lot of work that I do (checking the number on this web site, blocking the caller, but at least I FEEL like I have a little control of the situation. Maybe I'm delusional. My home phone blocks 30 numbers but the address book holds 3,000 numbers. I save each call as spam and don't answer it.
ITS OUR LIFE AND WE NEED TO TAKE IT BACK.
One person said to call forward selective to the FCC whose number is 1-717-338-2533
The Center for Investigative Reporting joined two news organizations in an investigation of groups that use telemarketers to raise money and what they found is that most of the money is paid to telemarketers, leaving the charities with little, if anything. (3%)
Not only that but reputable charitable organizations don't solicit donations by phone.
So it's good advice to remember to just say no to anyone who solicits over the phone unless you actually know the person calling.
DEBT COLLECTORS
This was posted on this web site:
The Fair Debt Collection Act (FDCPA) was put into place To give people legal rights when it comes to collection agencies and collection attorneys. If this collection agency is calling you for a debt you owe or a debt that is not yours, they could be violating your rights.
IF YOU ARE BEING CONTACTED BY ANY COLLECTION AGENCY, get in contact with http://www.fdcpacompliance.com/ asap so they can determine what rights these bottom feeders have violated and take action. More and more American’s find themselves being hounded by debt collectors as a result of our country’s recent economic downturn. The good news is that harassment is an illegal act according to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA). The great news is that each infraction is PUNISHABLE UP TO $1,000.00 TO THE CONSUMER for statutory damages, and possibly more for actual damages! The offending agency also has to pay your attorney’s fees. The only thing that the consumer generally has to do is help to gather and provide information.- Caller: cell phone fl
- RuthThis number 305+.358+7505 has called my home several times. Try not to answer but if pick up phone before checking I say Hello. If no immediate response I hang up. I now check the caller I.D. and if I see this number, I let it go to voice mail. Funny, how they never leave a message.
