Received call @ work didn't answer,lft vmsg.  Sound like a recording & same male voice I've received numerous calls from that came from several different nos.  Msg: Recv'd fax order on complaint against my SSN. I 've been retained to serve docs. @ my residence or place of employment. Want settle out of court call and give case #.  You have been officially notified."  Oh, really!!!!  This man has called me from practically every state located in the west and southwest.  He sure gets around.  I'm tired of getting these calls costantly and they always came in on my work no., never my home or cell phones.  What's up with that!!!  Has anyone had any calls like this and is there anything that can be done about it?  I've received calls from these nos. with the same msg and male voice:262-997-0998,216-920-7634,770-217-3383,913-730-7397,213-995-6219, 612-354-4061, they also use 716-748-6269 & 302-280-7512.

Just got a similar call and luckily they are on my cell where I can call block them. Until they start calling UNKNOWN again .. I had Miami, Georgia , WI, and MA ... I am so over these calls. I even had someone answer the phone and say they had the wrong number .. NO DICE ! I believe this is somehow related to a cash advance from 2007 and I think the  5 year statute is running out so now its everday. I am an expectant mom and this is stressing me out.

Same call same message. The thing to remember is that if it is a consumer debt a summons will go through the courts and not through them. Also, they have to mail you a letter stating what type of debt and who the collector is. This all has to be done before they can "serve you at work or your place of employment".

These same dumb people been calling me an dont know what they calling for an asking me for my ssn. i wish i can find them if somebody get a address on them fool please give it to me. im going there personally an kick some******

I have had the same calls for months now.  I have filed FCC reports and might call the police soon.  What they are doing is illegal.

Mine involves a "case" number that starts HMG.  That's the Harris Milton Group.  A collection firm out of the Carolinas.  I was tricked into paying on what was a legitimate debt, but was lied to on how things would be handled.  This isn't my first time dealing with them.  Be careful, but in my state, they have little standing & can only make idle threats that are against the law anyway.  Not been able to dig up much on this group other than they lied about being a law firm in Houston, TX, collecting a debt.

I have been receiving these calls for a year now at my office and on my cell. My husband recently got a home phone line for his personal office in his house without my name attached and they started calling that number - we have no clue how they got it. At one point, they got a number other than my direct office line at work, contacted my supervisor, told him I was in trouble, gave my supervisor a fake legal title, told him they were going to serve me, etc. My supervisor was able to determine that the person wasn't who or what he said he was through his legal connections based on the name and phone number given to him and advised that I ignore these phone calls and don't give out my personal information. I have received calls from every state and it's always these people claiming they are going to press charges against me and serve me at my place of employment or house, yet it never happens.
