Yesterday, I received a junk fax from 306-213-6837 promoting Michigan Roofing Solutions. This number appeared at the top of the fax in the header.

Call came in at 10:32 AM on our business line.  Caller ID showed 3073161375 as the name (a Wyoming number) while the number it showed as the calling number as 306-213-6840 (a Saskatchewan, Canada number). Obvious scam call.  I immediately blocked the number.

Rec'd junk fax from "EliteBridge Capital". When I called the number to be removed from the list, an actual person answered the phone and said "Leave 10-digit number without country code plus 1 NOW!" I went along with it, and began entering the fax number -- but he hung up on me before I could completely key in the fax number.

I've been getting faxes from these guys for several years.  Multiple times, I have called the number to have my fax removed from their calling list, but the faxes keep coming.  The company is supposedly "Tri-County Roofing," with a call-back number of 610-332-9579 (SE Pennsylvania), but the header indicates that the fax originated from 307-316-1375 (Wyoming).

Wyoming might be where the company sending the faxes is located.  There is a Tri County Roofing in Cherry Hill, NJ that uses that 610 number and is listed on Angie's List.  That fax is illegal and you can sue them for $500 or more under the TCPA.  That would certainly put them on notice that they cannot engage in this type of advertising and you could also find out who the company is that sent the fax and sue them as well.  If more people did that, these places would think twice before breaking the law.
