Received call from 307-316-9036.  Left voice mail:  "yes this is Karen Anderson I'm um calling in reference to your federal student loan.  Need to discuss your repayment options with some new changes that have taken effect recently so if you could be sure to just give me a call back my number is 866-306-1414 and I'm going to give you a reference number if you'll just please have this handy when you call back it makes thing a lot easier.  Your reference number is 707709.  Thank you."  Neither I nor my husband have ever had any student loans, so this is obviously a SCAM phishing for personal information.  Blocked.

This number also called my landline but fortunately was blocked immediately after the first ring by my blocking service. I googled the number on its own to see if there was any other information other than what was posted by the above poster but there was nothing else other than scam calls. I’ve never had a student loan and never will so apparently they’re just going through banks of numbers in hopes that they find someone who will fall for their scam. I would suggest not answering the call and if they’ve left a voicemail do not call the number back. If you do have student loans it would be best if you called the actual entity that issued the loan  to you.

Edited to add that I also googled the 866 number that was referenced in Kathy’s post but it was the same scam of student loans.

Received a txt asking if this was an ex husbands phone number

The number has sent a text to my cell. 307-316-6703 is not a main line number. The person is trying to be clever to gain information on the person they call. Be careful. It appears to be a scam with little knowledge to whom they call. Answer no questions to this caller. ASK the questions.

This just happened to me today!  My ex husband and I weren't even together when I had this number.
