This number called me and was unfamiliar. Didn't answer because of it. I don't like getting calls from unknown numbers.

I also got 2 calls from this number today and when I called back a couple times there was no answer.  Weird.

This call is from Wyoming. They do academic survey research on behalf of a number of different state and federal agencies (Montana Dept. of Health, Louisiana Dept. of Health, North Dakota Dept. of Health, etc.). Most surveys measure a number of health indicators (smoking, disease, etc.) to help the State address these issues and measure change over time. They hand dial every number, which is a randomly generated string of numbers. If you answer and ask to be put on their do not call list they will happily do so.  All surveys have undergone OMB or Institutional Review Board approval, and all are TCPA compliant.

They are harvesting phone numbers to sell to telemarketers as well as trying to get your personal information. If you answer this call, your phone number WILL be sold to telemarketers and you will be receiving calls, even though you may be on the Do Not Call Registry. (They spoof the caller ID numbers that show up on your cellphone or landline and it is VERY difficult to track them down).  A legitimate company will not ask you to verify your personal information over the phone.

The State of Montana Health Care and Benefits division is one of the organizations that these people are claiming to be, yet the state of Montana says these numbers are not affiliated with them and are unauthorized by them:  http://benefits.mt.gov/Admin/Unauthorized-Calls

There are people stating that they are calling to verify information from Wyoming, Montana, North Dakota and Louisiana.  If you have a block function on your cellphone, I would strongly suggest you use it for both of the numbers listed by the Montana Health Care Benefits division and if they are calling your land line, you may want to discuss with your provider the ability to block the 2 numbers.

I agree that this is a harvesting scam. I  finally called back after so many calls to me from this # and I got a weird pause then click then a hang up.
It's bogus. I looked it up and it says it's a landline # from Bosler,  WY.  Effing irritating.    L

Survey sponsored by CDC regarding tobacco products including e-cigs, snuff, cigars, hookahs, etc. and Wyoming's current and proposed laws (I.e. smoking in parks). Took about 15 min.

rec'd call from wyoming, i went ahead & answered, guy replied was calling for mt health survey?  i told him to please take my name off the call list & do not call again as i would be reporting him.
