The caller kept calling and saying I was owed a refund from the company and wanted to access my computer to return my money to me. Total scam!

My father was called by this number, saying he was owed a refund and tried to get him to give remote access to his computer.

What the previous reporters said. Two calls in rapid succession to my private cell number from "Restricted," then an urgent voice mail from a guy with a distinctly Indian-subcontinent accent, giving me a number to call in order to receive my refund. Dude, if I was owed a refund, I'd be the one initiating the interaction.

Female caller with accented English left a voice mail asking me to call this number for a refund. The caller ID registered as “Unknown”. Obviously some kind of scam.

Caller claimed that they had a refund for me from I-Yogi (a legitimate company that has been out of business for several years).  As I was not being very cooperative with him, he proceeded to threaten and curse at me.  The call comes thru as an un-identified number and the caller has a very heavy Indian accent.  Difficult to understand but he mastered American expletives quite nicely.

I was told the call was from a tech company I had done business with previously. They claimed I was due a refund. Wanted to take control of my computer to set up the refund. They were going to transfer money from my credit card to my checking account. They inflated the amount and were going to correct the error. I got suspicious, shut off the computer and hung up, then reported the incident to my bank.  It's a  vicious scam. Don't fall for it.

Thats why you never give strangers access to your computer. I mean, who ever heard of needing to remotely access a computer to get a refund anyway?
