From your report and some below, it sounds like they're targeting cell phones.  They called my cell at 9:04 AM CST today too.  Steph says Bahamas cruise / survey scam... been getting those on my landline number a lot lately and I've actually had them leave a message or talk if I happen to answer.

A spam call, it called my cell # and I didn't answer it. No message left.

It's a robo-call scam. I answered since I live in Chicago and it's a 312 number. But it's just an automated message saying I "won a cruise." Hung up and blocked.

312-265-2917 called my cell phone at 6:10pm on 3/10/16. I answered and heard nothing silence. Looked up the number and it's reported as a scam. BLOCKED

It sells some cruise to Bahama... or free offer .. something like that...

Like many others, I have confirmed that this is linked to Uber. I suspected it was Uber because when I first signed up with Uber, I suddenly started getting these mysterious calls literally on the first day I signed up--and never had any calls before that on a phone I had for over 15 years. Remarkable coincidence. I contacted Uber and they said they do give out phone numbers and that it would not be difficult for someone to sell your information to third parties once you register with Uber (as they are so intrusive into your privacy and literally can look at your contacts on your phone, emails, texts, and everything else according to the Agreement when you sign up). While I could not be 100% sure it was Uber-related despite the remarkable coincidence in having just signed up, I confirmed it 100% later as set forth below.

I happened to purchase another phone for my daughter and she wanted a new number. The first and only app she installed was Uber as she used it to take a ride to the airport prior to heading off on a vacation with friends. There was NOTHING else on the phone. Nothing except the Uber app, and her information she just plugged into Uber having registered with them for the first time as I could not drive her to the airport myself because I was in work. When she got back from Mexico, there were literally 8 calls from 312-265-2917 and not a single other call from anyone else.  NOBODY, and I mean nobody, had her phone number on this brand new line except me and Uber.

Uber appears to have serious privacy leaks or is selling your private information to third parties to scam you.

Very interesting! I had the app on my phone briefly because a former friend drove for them. I never actually used it, though, and I've since deleted it. I suppose it doesn't mean they don't still have my information. Thanks!

Travel scam to the Bahamas. It baffles me how i'm on the do not call list and these scam artists still find a way to contact me.
