I kept receiving calls from this number (with no messages left) & when I called it back, it was the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. I don't know why they'd be calling me, but it's probably about donating money.

A patron let me know of calls coming from this extention - as a rule we do not leave messages but are calling with special promotions available to you!  If you do not wish to receive phone calls, you may let us know via our website or call the ticketing office and asked to be removed from the list.  A "no answer" or "not interested" usually will not remove you from any list.  Our goal is not a hard sell but to let you know about special packages so please call us to give feedback!

    Thank you!

As a rule, we do not leave messages.  Believe it or not, patrons are more offended if we leave messages.  For single ticket buyers, you are offered unique discounts to either subscribe or to buy more single tickets that will not be offered any other way.

I apologize if you were put off in any way.  The outbound sales room for ticket offers sit in the Symphony admin offices right next to my office - that helps me monitor that the message and service is consistent.  If you would like to be removed, you can email patronservices@cso.org.

    Thank you!

I am much more apt to reply positively to snail mail solicitations from the CSO. I find phone solicitations of any kind extremely annoying and on principle refuse to make a contribution when approached by phone.

I got a call from this number and did not answer it.  I'm wondering why the Chicago Symphony Orchestra would call me when I live in Minnesota.

If you don't wish to receive fundraising calls from the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, call 312-294-3000, and tell them so. This has worked for me. Source: http://cso.org/plan-your-experience/privacy-policy/

It can take a couple of weeks for your number to stop receiving the calls. You won't show up on their call list during the next calling campaign, but will remain on the call list during the current one, per the person I talked with when I called to get my own number removed from their call list.

When people call the numbers that appear on Caller ID when your fundraising arm calls us, we should get a message that tells us how to remove our numbers from your call list, instead of no answer/a message saying the voicemail inbox for the line is full. This would help cut down on how much frustration these calls can cause.

Of course it is!  They won't stop calling me from sooooooo many phone numbers despite being told NOT to call anymore.  Send emails directly to them as well as calling them.  I've decided the only way to deal with them is to stop going to their events!

I go to CSO several times per year and went last Friday to see Dee Dee Bridgewater, thus this spam # calls me over and over and over and over and over...  I will not ever pick it up and have labeled it as spam.  If I want tickets, I know how to buy them.

Then why do you call from numerous numbers?  If you want to contact people and not spam them, call from a known number.  I used to buy a package and I stopped coming after becoming super annoyed with the call bombing.

Do you really think someone who posted nearly 12 years ago will return and answer your question?
