Left a message that I have a "matter" to discuss. If I don't return call will serve papers. OK, serve papers, no idea what this is about.

Claimed if i didn’t call back I’d be waiving my right to counsel...uh, pretty sure that’s not how it works...they wouldn’t tell me who the creditor had been.

They called and claimed I took out a payday loan ten years ago that I never paid back. They stated  they were not a debt collector but more of a mediator. So when I asked if the original company still owned the debt and I would like to know who they are and their phone number, they got really defensive with me, put me on hold and then said her supervisor would call me back..... ya okay

Keep getting multiple calls saying there is a pending case...cannot get any information

Definitely a scam, hope people read this first!!!!! They tell you about an old debt (could be a legit debt they found) and how if you don't call them back/find a way to pay them, they will serve you with legal papers at your job (okay come with it, i gave them my work address lmao), and you waive your right to legal counsel, if you don't pay them you will be served a warrant by your local sheriff (but they couldn't tell me by what local law enforcement agency when I asked lol),they will put a lien against your social security number, etc. (huh?),  I told them this isn't how the legal process works and that I will be reporting them. And they hung up on me.

It's BS....if there really was a pending case, you'd know about it, or be able to get some information.

Same as above. It’s a message stating there’s sometype af matter needing my quick attention and if i didn’t answer they would be considered waiving my right to counsel. And they would deliver papers to my place of employment . I haven’t been employed since 2002. So I don’t have an employer. My cousin works for a lawyer and she said that’s a scam. If it was legal papers for s pending court case and I would have been notified my legal mail( paper documents & letters)

they said I took a payday loan out and my check bounced through wellsfargo in 2008! I seriously do not recall taking a loan out. They gave me and address and email of where they have been trying to get a hold of me. I said Can you email me proof of this and she said its not possible since they all ready send me documentation and I failed to communicate back as I was non responsive. Then she said she was not a debt collector but a mediator. She said that they are willing to settle my $1,200 debt to $400 now. I told her I will not pay that until I have proof that I did that. she said they will take me to court and I will have to pay $1200 plus court fees if I dont settle now. I said well I will see you at court then. She said have a good day and hung up.

they did the same to me. did you agree to pay ?

Why would they?  It's a debt scam.  They have to prove you owe that debt to them.  Read and learn more here:

Thanks mate. I had a suspicion it was, I was just shocked they had some personal information on me like that. Just an old address and old email lol

A company called mrt services out of st. Louis mo called my number and informed me of a case pending against me for fraulent funds, i never had a payday loan with any of the companies they stated and the checking account they have has been closed for more than five years.

won't stop calling about something. The caller  told me her name was Linda Jones but  I couldn't really understand their accent, probably a scammer be aware

314-390-9988  -  Always shows as "ST. LOUIS" on the display.   We receive a call from this number daily; sometimes more than once a day.  Is a silent caller.
