important call from Carol Davis, no company identified or actual reason for call. Just a case in their office and very important I call them back.

I got the same call from same person usually if anyone has a case against u u would recieve legal papers in mail from an attorneys office i think its one big scam what these places usually want is your ssn # and then they say all this crap of what its regarding .never give out ssn # to anyone report it to ftc and your states general attorney

I've been getting the same calls, same number and at the same time every day at 9:46 am. It's been going on for about a week now and I have blocked the number.

"Carol Davis with MRC services".  Won't leave any specific info regarding case. MRC is a collections company, but my Credit Karma app says I'm clear, so number blocked.

I have been getting the same call at about 9:30 every morning from a Carol person. Does not give a company name. Just states for me to retain an attorney but does not leave a reason why.

"Carol Davis" calling from MRC Services demanding I call her back or they will proceed with the "case" against me.  I have no outstanding debt.  This is a bogus call trying to scare people into calling them back.

I've had seven voice mails in the last month from Carol Davis with MRC Services regarding a pending case in their office and she would like to get in contact with me or my attorney. I'm in goof standing with all my loans, and verified with the Credit Karma app. Glad to see I'm not the only one receiving these calls. I'll proceed with blocking the number.

It's unclear if this thread concerns:
* Mediation Recovery Center, the payday loan collection goons,
* Midland Recovery Corporation, or MRC Receivables, lesser known subsidiaries of major debt buyer (and major lawbreaker) Encore Capital,
* OR some other alphabet soup name.

I'm also foggy on the motives behind remarks here. I can't shake the feeling that several submissions share a single author. More distressing is the growing pattern of "verifying" things with "the Credit Karma app". That service, a term used loosely, is a marketing vehicle. It's not a litmus test for any particular debt liability. Credit Karma sits in a class of credit monitors and "fixer" entities which throw millions of dollars into their advertising while forgetting to secure the data which their customers surrender. The FTC in fact roasted CK in early 2014 for lying about its laughable "security precautions".

So we have to get off this carousel of "I checked Credit Karma then blocked the number" and start considering FDCPA and FCRA compliance, or rather the lack thereof. The apathy response and the backhanded shilling for an untrustworthy "app" are doing nothing to defend your rights, and will not protect you from a real lawsuit from some place which isn't faking like this MRC might be.
