I answered the phone and they asked for me by my maiden name and I've been married for 9 years. And when I asked it was regarding, the girl on the other end sighed like I was bothering her by asking and she told me it was none of my business and that it was a personal matter.
Scumbags...

This number called and I was busy at work.  They did not leave a message so I will not be calling them back and will be blocking this number.

I was waiting on a phone call from a business, but felt suspicious about this area code when my phone rang, so I didn't answer it. I'm so glad I didn't! Thank you all for letting me know it is just those weird-o Portfolio Recovery roaches...we just can't get rid of 'em, can we?

They call all the time from different numbers. They try to collect on debt that is past the statue of limitation.

Geez, that statue really gets around, it is a wonder they can keep it in the park or the museum for any length of time.  Or did you mean Statute, which would be a law?  If so, trying to collect a debt past the Statute of Limitations is not illegal, only filing a lawsuit or threatening to file a lawsuit would be.  Now, if you are really interested in making the calls stop permanently, and even making them pay you, read my post here:   https://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-859-340-1606

These cockroaches called today on a Sunday & Mother's day no less! I've collected about 50 calls now of them calling my cell with their robo calls, so now it's time to file a complaint for violating the TCPA act! I never gave them my cell so I certainly never gave them permission to call it. Old debtor didn't have this number either so I know they got it illegally! Time to make them PAY ME!

Really? The TCPA?  You would have a much better chance of filing a report for FDCPA violations, something that you could sue for and absolutely win, as opposed to the TCPA where you have a very slim chance of winning.   Even more amazingly, I have provided a link in my previous post that tells you exactly how to do all that.  So, read it, use it, and win, or don't.  Your choice.

Calls and never leaves a message and if by chance you answer they just hang up on you.

Called and I suspected what or who it was, so didn't talk to them.  The man said he was from Jefferson and that he wished to talk to me.  I said I wasn't available at present and would he leave a message.  Of course, they never do and do not tell you who they are.
