I know that we have no credit debit. Still I wanted to know WHO was calling and WHY they were actually calling.

When I asked who they are and why are they calling they hang up instead of answering a legitimate.

This is a SCARE TACTIC to get unsuspecting people to divulge financial information.

Do not give them any information. If they are legitimate then they would be willing to divulge WHO they are and WHY they are calling.

Another thing, when you ask them to STOP calling you they hang up on and still continue to call.  So if you ask once it does not matter that they hang up they ARE in the wrong by 1) using a recording, 2) by continuing to call even after being asked to, 3) REFUSING to divulge who they are, and 4) REFUSING to say why they calling your phone number.
PLEASE go to the National Do Not Call Registry and file a complaint.  The more complaints the faster they can get those scammers.

will take me off the list but they don;t they just keep calling

They hung up when I askes what the hell thay wanted! Called the number on my caller I'd and got a message they were disconected. Scam!

i just got this call as well with the same msg. i waited and hit "1" and got a rep that said "thanks for holding, did you press '1' to lower your rate?" "no, i pressed 1 to tell you to stop calling me" then they hung up. jerk.

when you get these "we can help you with your debt" -- just explain to them that you follow Dave Ramsey & that you have No Debt.  I did that last night & she started stammering around & finally hung up!   ;-)

Got the same call, if you are as frustrated as I am, go here to the National Do Not Call Registry and file a complaint.  We get enough people to do this, it might actually stop.

I was just called (8:18 pm CST Thursday, Feb. 3, 2011) by "Card Services" for the umpteenth time but this is the first time from that number. Like another caller, I used to live in -and am originally from- that area code (many, many years ago). I've been getting some version of these calls for three or four years, in off-and-on spurts -sometimes once or twice a day and sometimes months between.

According to MyCallBot, this number ranks 7th overall in number of calls placed nationwide, at 21,000/day. It's a cell phone number with New Cingular Wireless, according to Intellius.

DO NOT CALL ME EVER AGAIN! I HAVE REPORTED THESE SCUMBAGS TO THE NATIONAL DO NO CALL REGISTRY AND THE FCC IN WASHINGTON. LEAVE PEOPLE ALONE AND GET LIVES YOU BUNCH OF SCUMBAGS. CALLING PEOPLE TEN TIMES A DAY AND WHEN PEOPLE CALL BACK TO TELL YOU WHERE TO GET OFF A MESSAGE COMES ON THAT THIS PERSON HAS NOT SET UP A MAILBOX YET. DIRT BAGS. SCUMBAGS. They use a new cell phone number every day to call. Yesterday they used the number 502-718-8814 to call with.

The same caller here.

Also a legit credit card company is not going to use a cell phone to call you with.

Same call to my home.  Message says final call to reduce my interest rates on all of my credit cards and they have sent multiple notices to my residence.  They do not disclose the name of the company. Press 1 to speak to a rep.  So I pressed one.  The out of breath rep answered and asked if I pressed 1 to reduce my interest rate or if I pay off my balances in full each month.  I told her that she was a wireless caller, and she hung up.

This number comes up as a wireless number---someone calling from a cellphone..  I have reported this to my attorney general here in Florida..  Whatever state you live in, make sure you do the same..  If they get enough calls for harassment, they will delight in doing something about it.  They love to shut down these kinds of businesses and report them to the media....

Whoever used to have my phone number is obviously in a lot of debt and I cannot get the annoying calls to stop! He went by Michael C. Jackson. Pay your debts loser!

Same deal as above calls almost daily. Annoying calls about 'last chance' re credit card.

This number keeps popping up on my called ID.

I get continued unwanted computer messages from this number with them wanting to consolidate credit card debt, etc...they call themselves credit card services.  I am also on the national no call list, but I can now assume this doesn't help anybody.  These phone calls have been going on for years.  Hopefully someone can put a stop to it.

I keep getting calls from them. I have gotten to the point to where I just tell them to touch my [***] and they either respond or hang up...it dont help anything but it makes me laugh...lol

Here's a novel idea...answer the calls and waste their freaking time.
If you ignore their calls, their auto dialers just call you back again and again.
Make the low-lifes answer and bull$hit them for along as you can..this cost them money.
Remember, if they get one whiff that you're trying to BS them, they'll hang up....so be creative and get even.
