315-555-3737 calls numerous times and hangs up. It must not be too earth shattering if the SOB's can't leave a message. I never answer calls on #'s I don't recognize. Just about 100% of the time, calls like this are just scammers & telemarketers.    The name on Caller ID shows  DIR ASST NY.   Now why the heck would  Directory Assistance company from New York call someone in FL?  LOL!  Yup.  It smells fishy, and smacks of phone scammer, telemarketer activity.  Blocked that #.  Goodbye annoying phone scammer.

Just got a call from Dir Asst NY.  It was another hang-up.  Now Blocked.

Also got a call from this New York number.  I don't have any relatives in New York.  I don't answer unknown calls, but I do use sites like this to find out who might be calling.  Like the others, this is either a scam or a telemarketer, which is exactly why I don't answer unknown calls.

*SCAMMER ALERT* - This # has been calling numerous times a day and hanging up.  Even when someone in my household answers, there is dead silence on the line.  (This means it's a definite 'robo-call' from a scammer / telemarketer checking to see if a human answers.)     I live in Florida, so it doesn't take a genius to figure out that when a number says "DIR ASST NY" is calling, that it's a scammer.  Directory Assistance calling me from New York?  Ha. Yeah right.      After getting annoyed due to a plethora of their hang up calls over the last few weeks, I answered; hoping for a human being.  Do you know why?  It's because I have a bull horn with a really loud siren on it that I blast in telemarketers ears when they won't go away.    The human on the other side said they needed to verify my personal info., name & SS# for Directory Assistance Purposes.  (Yeah right. HA HA.  And I have a bridge that I own in Brooklyn that I'd like to sell them).   I said wait a second.  Then I proceeded to put the bull horn up to the phone receiver, let it blast full tilt, on siren mode, and let them have it.   It was so loud the dogs went running and woke the whole neighborhood up.  LOLOLOLOL!  So much fun.  If they want to scam and annoy, I can be 10,000 times more annoying back.  Oh by the way, asking to be removed from any scammers calling list never works.  It just makes them call you back 20 times worse.   Also I do have call block, but that only works long enough for them to get a new number to start calling from.    I got that bull horn years ago, and since I have been using it to annoy phone scammers back, the word gets around, and I rarely get these types of calls anymore.   Such a WONDERFUL solution to an age old annoying problem.   Oh, a loud sports whistle works wonders too.  Try it.  So much fun that I even look forward to telemarketers calling me, but they really don't call me much anymore.  I'm on their "list" now of people they don't want to mess with.   lol.

This is definitely a scammer.  They call numerous times and hang up.  Then when they get someone on the phone they start with their con or scam schtick.   This SAME number will reflect as many things.    It used to show up as DIR ASST NY.    Sometimes it shows up as INCOMING CALL.  Today it showed up as the phone number on the heading, plus the phone number as the one calling in.  These [***] do that trying to prevent people from blocking them.   My question is why on earth do they keep calling people that are annoyed at them, are on to them, and want nothing to do with them?   They are wasting their time with me.  I am blocking them again.   Whatever company this # shows up as, block them!

Called and hung up after I said - Hello this is.... -   As it is my work cell phone number... So aggravating!

This number is listed on the FCC Spam list. As an Android user, I use an app called Extreme Call Blocker. If a number is on the FSS spam list, it automatically hangs up on them. I never even get a ring. This app also lets you blacklist other numbers. every time I get a call from a number not on the app white list, I get a pop-up asking whether I want to blacklist it or whitelist it.. My phone is so much more enjoyable when I control who gets through or not.
