- Bill| 1 replysaid they were microsoft and wanted computer access
- Caller: Microsoft???
- Gene replies to BillI had the same caller call my house, name was Robert Wilson (sounded like he was from India). He insisted that I get to my computer immediately, for a few hours and let him diagnose why my computer was sending malice information to Microsoft, said he works for American PC 247, who are affiliated with Microsoft Corp. I'm not familiar with them, so, I never gave him ny information. Sounded like a scam all the way...He gave me 2 phone numbers (213)215-3317, and (315)675-4060
- ReadSame as previous posters--claiming to be from Microsoft and wanting information from my computer. When I said their phone number doesn't show up as Microsoft he said to hold for a supervisor, and hung up.
- Caller: claiming Microsoft
- MarianSame as above. Claimed that my computer was full of viruses, and it I didn't buy their service, my computer would quit working at any time. Very high pressure to try to get me to give information and buy their service.
- Caller: IP Expert
- Call type: Telemarketer
- JasonI finally got my first call from the Indian Microsoft boys! Immediately thinking that it was Rajesh Kuthroopoly, David at AT&T customer service, or possibly Mohandas Ghandi on the line, I set his heart a singing when I agreed to go to my computer and follow his instructions. He kept telling me to push the Microsoft logo and the letter R. Then he would ask what I saw on my screen. I'd say "Nothing" We walked down this primrose path a few times and I could tell that he was getting short with me. He ask what kind of internet did I have. I ask "Do you mean that I need internet?" He said "You don't have internet?" "No"
Then "Click!" He rode away into the sunset on ole Bossy.... - Miranda| 5 repliesI got a call from this Indian guy saying he was from the government and that I have received a grant for $9000. I guess the Microsoft thing didn't work for him. The number he gave me to call back was 315-675-4060
- Sabrina.I got a call saying I had been selected to receive grant money. I needed to call 315 675 4060 and that my money to would be released within the hour.
- Susana replies to Miranda| 1 replyI just got the same phone call... How do they got my info?? He got not only my phone number, also my address...!
- Jean| 1 replyRobert called to say he was from the US Government, and I had been selected out of 2000 US citizens to receive grant money. If I called the number back I could speak to an account supervisor and he would have it sent by Western Union or Moneygram. It sounded like a scam so I looked the number up on the web and found this site. Every informed citizen should know that's not how the government works when they want to give you money.
- Caller: Said US Government
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Jean replies to JeanHe also said he was in DC, he is in Cleveland, NY.
- mattMine was a woman named Amy telling me that I got pick for a government grant for $9220. Telling me to go to Walmart and pay $220 dollars to get the money.
- crystle replies to SusanaYes i wonder how he got my info i told him i had to call my lawyer first
- LulyI received a phone call from the same indian guy telling me I will be getting $9200 government funds and to call 315 67404060.
- Call type: Prank
- Christal WareNow they are claiming to be calling from the government wanting to give me $9200 but I have to give them $200 first.
- Caller: Government grants
- StephenI got the same phone call about being selected by the government for a personal grant of $9200 but I had to send him $200 first. I questioned it. 1st the 200 was for taxes, then it was for Western union, then it was for an enrollment fee, then it was a security deposit'':. I played along then he told me to send the money to David Armstrong in palm harbor Fl when he originally told me it was going to the federal reserve bank in NY. I called him out on that so he got another guy to call me from Texas who was real rude & pushy about sending the money. Nobody I spoke with had an American accent. The 1 first lady sounded Asian, the 2nd sounded Indian & the 3rd sounded middle eastern. I think I'm gonna call him back & tease him about the money to mess with him the same way.
- JessicaSame federal grant b.s... I listened for about 2 mins then hung up!!! Claimed to deposit 9200 for whatever reason, these people are fraud!!!!
- Mardi Sasse| 6 repliesI received a call from a blocked number telling me I qualified for a $9,200 grant from the US Federal Gov't that was not a loan, mortgage or (a few other things...) and no taxes would need to be paid on this money. There was an option to receive monies either through direct deposit or MoneyGram... the registration fee is only $230. Scary part, they have my address and it is in no way associated with my phone number that 'was randomly selected' to receive this 'once in a lifetime benefit'. I was instructed to call 315-675-4060 where I was told to register online (pay $230) and then I could use the money any way I wanted! The two people I spoke to mispronounced Florida several times, indicating to me that perhaps they didn't actually work for the US Federal Gov't.
I hope no one actually falls for this crap!- Caller: could not understand caller
- ImaginativeWas called saying I had been preselected for a $9200 grant by a Indian guy had my phone number and address which I haven't even lived at for too long nor have I put a change of address in at the post office. Freaked me out gave me a confirmation ID and said call 315-675-4060 to have the money wired in 20/30 minutes.

- Call type: Prank
- NikI had received the call this morning. Some scam. Get $9,200 for being a model citizen and receiving the money from an old tax relief from 2009. Ricky Baxtor of New York was my fortunate advisor and was not American at all. Might have been a form of Indonesian.
