A call came in from from 315-930-4491, and the call-back number was 877-247-0879. The voicemail was from "Molly Black,"  saying she was "calling in regards to your 2017 top Doctor Award. Your plaque is being processed; we just need verification to make sure everything is accurate before it is sent out to you."

Clearly a scam. I'm not calling back, though I might report them to www.donotcall.gov.

Not a scam, but not what it seems. Top-doctor-awards.com is company that refers doctors to an affiliated company to buy plaques that look like awards from peers, journals, or other organizations. There is no transparent process by which physicians are identified for "awards" and the practice is more to market the doctors to their patients, not a recognition of the doctors for their accomplishments. Stay away ... a waste of time and money.
