This number has called me 3 days in a row with a voice mail message saying; You must call me back today with my attorney of record blah - blah - blah - and if not it will be judged accordingly!  It is comical, actually. But my attempt to block  it, for some reason has failed and went to my voice mail - which it is not supposed to do!  Kind of strange, actually!
But I just basically laugh at the message - some degenerate bill collector or someone!  I am just ignoring it!

This is a SCAM! They said that I had tried to scam a financial institution and that the company wanted restitution of 1200 ! They also said they couldnt give me the name of said company because they filled a protective order against me and that their lead investigator would have to contact said company to see if they were still willing to accept payment or not. Once I told them that I had never and I mean never tried to defraud any company and that it couldn't be me and I would not pay for something I didn't do they said fine we'll just turn you over to the DA then and have them file the warrant and hung up on me . so I called Iowa PD asked them what was going on and they said it was a scam and don't fall for any of it ... Pls people they are fake phonies trying to get your money DON'T GIVE IN!

    Rubbish...

How can I verify whether or not a debt collector is legitimate?
Here are a few warning signs that could signal a debt collection scam:

The debt collector threatens you. Legitimate debt collectors probably won't claim that they'll have you arrested or claim that they or their employees are law enforcement officers.

The debt collector refuses to give you information about your debt or is trying to collect a debt you do not recognize. You have certain rights to ask a debt collector to verify the debt. You can use this sample letter to request this information. Ask for an explanation in writing before you pay.

The debt collector refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number.

The debt collector asks you for sensitive personal financial information. You should never provide anyone with your personal financial information unless you are sure they're legitimate.
If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:

Ask the caller for his or her name, company, street address, telephone number, and professional license number. Many states require debt collectors to be licensed. Check the information the caller provides you with your state officials, or the state in which the debt collector holds a license. If the caller refuses or is unable to provide you with information about his company, or if you can’t verify the information he provides, do not give money to the caller or company.

Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." This notice must include:
    The amount of the debt
The name of the creditor you owe
A description of certain rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, consider requesting this information in writing or seeking assistance before paying the debt to make sure the debt, and the company, are valid.

Tip: You can consider sending the collector a letter requesting the information by using one of the CFPB's sample letters. You can also submit a complaint to the CFPB or you can contact your state Attorney General’s office.

Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know the company or person you are talking with is a real debt collector. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft such as:
    Charging your existing credit cards
Opening new credit card or checking accounts
    Writing fraudulent checks
Taking out loans in your name

Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate – but you think the collector may not be – contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.

Report the call. Submit a complaint with the CFPB or get in touch with your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers.

Stop speaking with the caller. If nothing else works and you believe the calls are fraudulent, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files.

Tip: You can use this sample letter to write a letter demanding the debt collector stop contacting you. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.

Tip: If you're having trouble with debt collection, you can submit a complaint with the CFPB online or by calling (855) 411-CFPB (2372).

If they are as "legitimate" as you claim, you won't mind giving us:

The name of the company along with a legitimate physical mailing address and phone
    number,

    Federal Employee Identification Number-EIN,

Proof Of Licensing, bonding and or registration by the city, town in which their business is located.

Proof of licensing required by any state in which they operate by mail or telephone or email.

    We're waiting....

    Want to tell us:

Who was the DA that handled your case.
What state and country  you convicted in.
What precisely you were found guilty of.

But of course, none of that happened.

It's just a load of hogwash.  You cannot be arrested for ordinary civil debt and there's no way a civil debt can be transformed into a crime.

    i was also arrested

If that is true, you should be able to give us the information at the top of the arrest warrant, since it is now "public information".

Give us the court name and location,  the name of the judge, the plaintiff's attorney's name and Bar number, and the name of the company or person that is suing you, the date you are supposed to appear, and possibly a docket number.

Can you do that, to prove your statement, or did I ask for too much information?

Well, then, just give us the name and address of the court, and the plaintiff's name.  You do not have to tell us your name.  That should not be difficult at all.  Otherwise, we will have strong evidence you were NOT served, and are fibbing to us, and are probably a shill for the phone number under discussion.

I betcha you can't give us the requested information.  You didn't even give the physical and web address of the company that uses this phone number, so we could check their validity.

Do not bother to return and argue these points, unless you can provide the data I requested.

As I noted previously, this is a load of hogwash. Being in ordinary civil debt is NOT a crime and you cannot be arrested for it.  Do you think we are all fools?

    Hi Kim,

It is kind of interesting how you and sara were both arrested, and essentially made the same claim within minutes of each other.  No one believes you.

I guess sites like this this are cutting into your ill gotten gains, and now you have resorted to making posts like yours to steal money.

I predict the police will you up in regards to these calls,  but you will be charged with extortion and fraud.
