What nerve these jerks have. They left a msg "Please wait for the next available representative", on a call they made to ME! Block the SOBs.

I received a call from this #.  I didn't recognize/didn't answer.  There was a message left, but it was just a moment of silence.

This number called my cell phone  Hiya identified it as a telemarketer... I am sure it is a scam... No voicemail left... when will our congressmen and women get off their collective rear ends and do something about this?

It is a scam.  Do not say "Yes" to ANY question, as they will dub your reply in and switch your power supplier to THEM.  It is a spoofed number - they are trying to hide their true location; the guy told me CT but had a Texas number and a heavy Indian/Pakistani accent.  I asked the company name and he repeated his "Robert" name - and his name ISN'T Robert at all!

These guys are almost all offshore now, and with VOIP phones they can provide any number they want, even rotating through numbers they've set up in a table.

So blocking the number will do little to stop them, as they will just use another number.

But since I work from home on a computer all day, I like to have fun with these guys, pointing out that they're spoofing the number, asking their REAL location (they can't even tell you the name of the street they're on - HOW DO THEY GET TO WORK EACH DAY?) and things like that.  It is amusing, and eventually they'll hang up on my, letting me know I've wasted enough of their time.  I call it "Telescammer Surprise".
