I received a call yesterday saying that he is my cousin, never refer to me by my first name nor he stated his name.  He stated that he was coming to visit then called the next day from the "airport" asking to wire $$ to an attorney in Guadalajara, Jalisco because he failed to complete the fiscal form.  The attorney name given Santiago de la Cruz.  The rep at airport Angel Cardenas Martinez.  I told them that western union only accepts cash which I do not have and called my phone company to block the#.

Last night, I got a call to my house from some guy claiming to be my cousin who was coming for 3 days on a work related issue. He said he had been trying to contact us for a few days with no luck and that it was a surprise visit. Supposedly he had a flight connecting in Houston and he would call today to give me the final flight info. He even asked what I wanted him to bring me! LOL!
What seemed fishy is that he started playing the "guess who I am" game, luckily i only gave him a name of a cousin who I know lives here.

He also gave me this number and when I googled it I became more concerned. I also contacted my real cousin just in case and yep, he's still here!

He called again this morning but I just didn't answer

I got that exact same message today

The same thing happened  to me just yesterday, from the 331-322-1009 number! He called n said that he was my cousin n was flying from Guadalajara to Houston then Chicago! Called me in the morning stating he just arrived n Houston but  had a problem with immigration for not declaring 25 thousand dollars he was carrying in his suit case. To get out of this situation he wanted me to send 1900 hundred, but to a Celia Aguirre Ramos, supposedly a Lawyer in Guadalajara, Jalisco Mexico! To avoid charges here in the U.S.! He told me to send the money asap! Within one hour. I replied i wil c cause its not easy to collect that much amount! He stated the flight to Chicago was leaving within two hours. Right there i thought something not right, so i called Mexico to confirm that my cousin was there n he was! That when i said to myself this is a scam!! This people can really make u fall for it! But we have to b smarter than them! Please be careful n DO NOT ANSWER THIS 331 area code numbers!

Same-thing happened to just yesterday! Same words! But when my son answered my phone in english, he understood everything being said! So this people r bi- lingual!

Received a few calls  from 331-322-1009

This unknown person pretend to be my dads causin and etc.
This idiot needs to [***] off...Im going to [***] the [***] out him.
Do not mess with a police daughter. I got you [***].

This duché bag called and said exactly what everyone here mentioned. I hope , he is found and taken out back & beaten to a pulp. Just merely for inflicting fear and concern from innocent caring ppl like hispanos.

My mother has been receiving these calls but they hang up when she asks their names. She finally told me about it and I researched it online. This is how I came across this website.

He states he is family from Mexico and if she doesn't remember who he is. They have been trying to get a family member's first name out of her but she has not budged. After joking with her and don't get what they want they hang up.

I really do hope they get what's coming because we will be reporting this scam to higher authorities and family members.

Are "these" all Mexican? Some of the greatest were blue eyed. But, are "these" all white? These people are, no matter what nationality, greedy; willing to perpetuate an illegal action, such as the white-collar-crime, for the euro, dollar, yen, etc. "These" do this for the "love of money": a motive that can instill into any individual(1Tim 6:10). Just because one is doesn't mean all are. Not all of "these" are Mexican. Understand this: steryotypes are stupid.

This person called me pretending to be my cousin Carlos. He said he was in the SF airport and he did not report all the money that he bough with him from Mexico so he had to pay taxes now. We almost fell for it, but called my cousin Carlos' mom and he was at work in Guadalajara.

This person knew my name and ask me if I recognized him he was a cousin from Mexico.

I just received a call from 331-322-1009 from a man claiming to be my "primo"  (cousin).  i asked  "which primo?"  He answered, "el de Mexico. ?Donde tines primos en Mexico?" (Where do you have cousins in Mexico?)  I foolishly responded with my cousin's name in Mexico City.  Of course he said he was her son and I was concerned that he was calling with bad news.  I apologized for not remembering his name and asked what it was.  I guess he realized it was going to be tricky connecting with me and he hung up.

Yea i received a call from 331-332-1009. And I kept asking him questions "What do you want" "Who are you" "Where are you coming from" "How do you get my number". I specific told him that "Leave me the f*** alone". He hung up, i guess he got spooked.
